**** READ THIS IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES **** The install went easy on my Ender 3 Pro. Everything fits with no problems. I upgraded my Ender 3 Pro with a 4.2.7 silent board and color display and added the CR Touch. The CR Touch and BL Touch V3.1 use the newer single 5 pin connector design instead of the older BL Touch split connector version which used the 2 pin z-stop port and 3pin connectors on the motherboard. For the new single 5 pin connector design, DO NOT modify it! Keep reading! **** WARNING! **** Be careful which pre-compiled firmware you are using. The wrong firmware will behave as follows: with the z-stop removed and CR Touch installed, during auto-level the Z axis will not move down with any command, only up. If you leave the z-stop connected, it will drive the entire head into the bed and damage it when trying to auto-level! The CR Touch as well as the new v3.1 BL Touch use the single 5 pin connector. You will need to download the firmware from the Creality.com website directly, unless you wish to get the Marlin code and compile it yourself with all needed options. Make sure to look in the Ender 3 V2 category (if you upgraded to the color display) on Creality.com, even though you have an Ender 3 Pro, due to the color display compatibility requirement. If you are using the old 8bit screen, you can grab the files for the Ender 3 Pro instead. If you are using the wrong incompatible firmware for the color display, you will get a loud constant beep to alarm you. Now, how to "flash" the firmware? Easy! After downloading the appropriate *.bin file, copy it onto your SD card (if you downloaded a .zip file, extract first), then stick the SD card in the printer and power up. It will automatically load the new firmware. After that you can delete the *.bin from the SD card. For the BL/CR touch, the printer will create a *.dat file, leave that one alone on the SD card as it stores the Z offset settings. Setting Z offset is easy. Auto home, then move the Z Axis back to 0.0 position. Take a sheet of paper, lower head via the Z offset menu (not the move Z axis menu) until it grabs the paper as you were doing with manual bed leveling. Once you are satisfied with the grab, you are done. I recommend looking up a YouTube video on how to set that Z offset to make it easier and clearer. The last step is to update your slicers settings to add the G29 g-code command for auto-leveling after the G28 homing command. Each time you generate your g-code, it will include this command and tell the printer to automatically level each time you start a print.

This is pretty much necessary to using the ender 3. Without it, the printer drifts out of level after every print. make sure to run auto leveling with the printer and bed heated for the most accurate calibration! installation was easy, but finding the correct firmware to flash to the printer took me about half an hour.

Ok i have an ender 5s1. Not sure why it would have braket for 5s1. Plus it doesnt work on mine. So had to install cr touch the original way. I did know I did have the 4.0 mother board I have version 1.4.0. So it really anoying it's so hard to find the right stuff for my 5s1. It works. Won't auto level , when it hits left front spot says sensor didn't deploy. I do have 1 update to install on machine as soon as I figure it out. Product is fine.

I installed this Creality CR Touch auto bed leveling kit on my Ender (32-bit V4.2.2/V4.2.7 board) and it’s been a solid quality-of-life upgrade. The kit came with the sensor, multiple mounting brackets, and the needed cable, so I didn’t have to hunt down extra hardware. Once I flashed the correct firmware and dialed in my Z-offset, the probing/mesh routine made first layers noticeably more reliable, especially when swapping between build surfaces (glass/PEI/sticker/metal). It won’t magically fix a wildly untrammed bed, but it does reduce the constant “paper test” tweaking and helps keep results repeatable. Build quality feels good, and the metal probe + stated 0.04mm positioning accuracy is reassuring for long-term use. Cons: instructions/firmware choices can be confusing if you’re new, take a minute to confirm your exact printer and mainboard version first.

Works great and easy to install. I printed an adapter since I upgraded the print head so the sensor doesn’t end up too far front when leveling. Requires firmware update, but is super easy to do.

Product is nice to have in the long run. I used jyers firmware for the ender 3 v2 not the creality firmware and now get a visual representation of the bed level and able to make quick adjustments. You will need to update the z offset axis frequently during initial leveling and update your slicer to work with this item. Which is pretty straightforward as there are plenty of videos on youtube. After initial manual leveling it takes about 10 minutes to auto level. The biggest issue I had was after the install the hot end would not lower on the z axis. This issue does appear with others when searching on google but I did not see anyone mention this being the cause. After a few hours of troubleshooting (reinstalling cr touch, reflashing firmware, checking connections, checking slicer) determined that the connection into the CR touch has a bad wire. This is easy to miss as the connection holes are small, so just give a minimal tug on wire to see if they slide out, dont yank it. Was able to make a quick fix by pushing the wire up and making it flat with a punch. I was able to get it working but will need to replace in the future. I have reached out to the seller to see if I can get another connection wire and will update if they contact back. I have done a few prints and am getting similar results to when I just had to manually level my bed. Also another thing to note, you will still have to manually level the bed initially prior to creating a mesh with the auto leveler. Pros: i get a visual representation of my bed leveling. hands off leveling of bed lets you do other things while its going. quality of actual cr touch is pretty good. light weight. Price is reasonable. Cons: Leveling takes longer than using a piece of paper. Need to update firmware/slicer/printer settings. for me quality of connection wires. Overall I like the product. I would recommend this product to anyone that is semi familiar with 3d printing or has a friend that is.
