Im a professional handyman. This little saw is amazing! What it is not: a 15 amp 110v plug in miter saw. What it is: the most handy miter saw ive ever used. It cuts super well, lasts as long as your workday. If you are good about keeping your battery charged, you wont need another battery. Its compact, and as such you cannot expect it to cut huge pieces of lumber. If you are working with 2x4 1×4 2x6 which is about 95% of what you need a miter saw for, it works wonders. Cut a little slower, remember its a battery tool. It goes upstairs easy, moves easy, stores easy, slides easy, adjusts easy, makes jobs easy. Take it to the lumber instead of taking your lumber to your saw! No cord, no worries. Make sure your fence is square with the blade before cutting. Blade is holding up well so far. I just love it and am glad to add this craftsman tool to my bag of tricks. Its my wood shop on the job right now. I hope it lasts forever.

When I was preparing to move to another state, I sold my fairly new 12” Dewalt miter saw as I couldn’t justify the size & weight for the DIY home projects I get involved in. Now in our new home and needing to build some utility shelving in the garage and a small face frame cabinet for a guest bedroom, I searched what was available for around $200 or less and settled on this one. I’ve already finished the shelving project and really was pleased with how it performed. Light weight, compact size, plenty of power, and a respected brand with customer support. What more could you want?

Great saw. Plenty of power and will cut through a 2x6 no problem. Used it to build a small deck at my off grid cabin and laminate flooring in the bathroom. I also use mine with the knock-off batteries. it works just as good for about half the price. Only advise I have is, use at least a 6mh battery and keep a sharp blade.

Love, LOVE this mitre saw. I was worried that the batter might. It provide enough torque - WRONG! It Glides nicely. Very clean cut. Easily adjustable. It comes with a dust bag as well for a cleaner operation. This is a great addition to my Craftsman 20 volt tool set. Portable and lightweight. It hangs on my VersTrack wall mount system.

This little saw is pretty awesome. I would recommend it to any home DIY person. I would not recommend it to a professional contractor or to someone who works in a shop and needs to use it daily. My battery last all day in it. It is light. I like how I do not need to look for a outlet when trying to find a spot to cut. It is a good value for a home owner who just needs a saw for small projects around the house. One of the areas it falls short (literally) is if you are cutting wood that is 3" or more thick, the motor of the blade hits the wood and you can not finish the cut. I do not see a way to adjust the blade height. Just the angle. We had this issue when cutting some 3 1/4" tall baseboards. So instead of adjusting the saw blade to the left or the right to make our angled cuts, we had to place the baseboard flat on the platform and then adjust the tilt of the blade and this is a bit more challenging to cut with as it can only tilt one way. You do not get a perfect cut with it like that either as the board is not flush to the back of the saw platform. The saw has this nice clamp that you can use to hold the wood down to the saw deck. The issue with is if if you are cutting a 45 degree angle, the saw motor again hits this clamp preventing you from finishing your cut. There is a spot on the left and right for this clamp so you can adjust what side you have it on, but as another big oversight you need a screw driver to remove it and move it to the other side or to temporary remove it if it gets in the way of your cut. I might just throw this part away. They should have used knobs on the back of the saw to remove the need for a screw driver.

I took a chance of this tool four years ago because I had bought in to the Craftsman battery universe. It has never let me down, simple to use, and came set up and ready to go. I'm a DIY guy who doesn't build things for a living, so this is perfect. Enough range to do most things and quite reasonable in price. If you are a DIY person who might need to cut miters 10-20 times a year, this saw is perfect.
