What an Upgrade!!
What an upgrade from the last series!! I’ve always bought craftsman socket sets just because of everything that comes in them. This series is even better than I originally thought. This set will easily fill the entire socket drawer of a 48” box, I would know because it did for mine and the versatility this kit offers is insane to pass up for the startup techs and the techs that know when they can cheap out.

Nice Set for the Price
As of others have said missing sockets seems to happen. I was missing only the 1/4 drive 3/16 socket. No biggie. Ordered one separately to complete the set with the total cost being $1.01 per socket. I’ll take that deal any day. Sockets look really nice and it’s a great deal even if 2-3 sockets are missing.

Craftsman Product Excellent, But Missing Sockets
Quality of the Craftsman sockets is excellent. Unfortunately, just in the SAE and metric sockets, there were 4x 1/4" drive sockets missing, 2x 3/8" drive sockets missing, and 3x 1/2" drive sockets missing. Tried to ask for just the missing sockets. Nope. Either return the whole thing (after unloading everything into my tool chest), or buy the missing sockets myself. Seller needs better QC when packing for shipment, or they need to accept orders for missing sockets.

This socket set mostly did the job
This ended up being a late-night “add to cart” when I was swapping an alternator on my aging Civic and realized half my sockets were missing. The range of sizes in this Craftsman kit is legit. I’ve used the deep sockets for brake caliper bolts and the Torx bits on a PC case mod the next day. The ratchets feel decent and the case fits under my desk in my tiny apartment. One gripe, the plastic latches feel kind of cheap and the bits don’t always stay in their slots after I toss it in the trunk. For the price, i can live with that, just wish the organization was tighter.

Craftsman - Duplicates Now Included
I purchased this set on sale in 2025 for $250 - I did receive 299 pieces, HOWEVER, I didn't receive the correct 299 pieces. Instead, I received an entire bag of 3/8" drive duplicates. I wonder what I didn't get? In the past, I've had good luck with these online Craftsman sets. Normally, I complain about the weird gaps and the poor packaging, and then I leave 4/5 stars and move along with my day. This is the first set I've bought that had 1) weird gaps, 2) poor packaging, AND 3) duplicate items. Not ideal. I'm not going to return the set, and I'll happily use what I've received. That said, this is the weakest online Craftsman purchase I've made. - 3/5 Stars -

Great value on a name brand.
I read the reviews, so when I got my set the first thing I did was open each bag and sort them out on a table. Then I counted them, 1st count was 299, no reason to recount. I noticed the bag contents were grouped logically. The only sockets that were mixed with the misc bits was the odd sockets for spark plugs and the torx head sockets. It is way more socket sizes and drive sizes than the average person would ever need, and the price and name brand make it an excellent value. The few sizes that are skipped are not sizes the average person would ever need. The only way this could be better is if they were still made in the USA. If I had to find something less than perfect, I would say I thought it unusual that all the metric sets skipped over the 20mm size. Due to the pattern I would assume there is a reason, and even the wrench sets I have bought in the past skipped the 20mm.

Standard Craftsman Sockets
Tools get five stars... this set gets four. WHY in the heck do they skip a couple of random sizes?! I mean, even if they are uncommonly used sizes, with an all inclusive set like this... put them ALL in there. I can't recall exactly which ones it was, but it wasn't something far fetched. It was like 1/4" deep well 7mm, 3/8" shallow well 17mm, and 1/2" shallow well 1 1/8 or something like that, all out of the middle of the sets. If you are using pre-labled Peggy organizers, you now have random "missing" tools- "empty pegs" scattered around the drawer. It was weird. I thought I was legitimately missing sockets until I checked the parts list and saw they weren't included. Pretty irritating.
