Features

  • EFFICIENT FERMENTATION - Craft A Brews packaged Fermaid K is a blended complex yeast nutrient that facilitates efficient fermentation by promoting yeast growth and reproduction. Its blend of nutrients helps compensate for nutrient and nitrogen deficiencies in grape wines, fruit wines or beers.
  • HOW IT WORKS - This product helps keep yeast in suspension, helps keep volatile acidity levels low and helps absorb fatty acids that are toxic to yeast. Fermaid K contains a blend of inorganic nitrogen (DAP), organic nitrogen (alpha amino nitrogen), inactivated yeast as well as other key nutrients.
  • HOW TO USE - Fermaid K nutrient works best if added in 2 doses. The first half of the dose is added 6-12 hours after pitching the yeast, and the other half once the sugar content is depleted by 1/3 of original gravity. Before adding the second dose, mix with room temperature water to avoid excess CO2 release and overflow.
  • BREWING RECOMMENDATIONS - We recommend you use 1 gram per gallon of wine. For best results, this product should be used with a yeast rehydration nutrient to assure proper nutrition. The package contains 1 oz of Fermaid K.
  • CRAFT A BREW QUALITY - Based in Orlando, FL, our mission at Craft A Brew is to stand as the trusted source for homebrew supplies. Guided by our core values of delivering top-notch ingredients, combining elegance with efficiency in design, and championing environmental sustainability, we ensure that every sip is a delightful experience, savored just the way it should be.

  • Promotes fermentation
Flavor: Amylase Enzyme
So I had a stuck fermentation, the first one ever (so far). Read on a homebrew forum that one guy used this during the mash. I've brewed 4 batches with this added (1 tsp per 5 gallons) and my fermentations have been vigorous and I've met or exceed my FG levels every time. I probably won't brew without this stuff again, I consider it part of my water salts. ... show more

  • Restarted Stalled Fermentation
Flavor: Yeast Energizer
I added the yeast energizer directly to the fermenter and then aerated it. The fermentation has been going strong since then.

  • A little pricey, but works well
Flavor: Fermaid O
I use this for meads primarily and it definitely helps keep fermentation going smoothly. I’ll likely look for a better deal elsewhere though.

  • Works well, but tough to use
Flavor: Fermaid O
This yeast nutrient is nice in the sense that it is organic. It also does work well, but it is extremely tough to dissolve or mix into liquid. The feeding schedule is also kind of a pain!

  • Mixing Instructions
Flavor: Go-Ferm
I used to make winer commercially and currently make home ciders. In order to best use this product, start with nonclorinated water and heat to 110%, mis Go-Ferm in and stir until the temp drops to the range of 95deg F - 105deg F. Then add your dried yeast and stir. Let it drop to within 5 deg of your cider/wine juice. Then add to juice. ... show more
