Live in Texas, so far many 100 degree days this summer and I bought this a few weeks ago. Our ac in home doesn't always work properly so there are days where my room gets hot. Tried to alleviate it using two fans but that only circulated the hot air. Bought this and it has been awesome so far. So when I bought it, I knew it would take reusable ice packs, so I bought extras just to swap out when I refill the water, which I would recommend you do if you buy it. I usually have to refill the water and swap the ice packs twice a day, once in the morning to keep the room cool during the day and again at night before I sleep. It usually takes about 2 gallons or less a day, so it doesn't require too much water to function. It's made the hot days bearable and my nights comfortable. I've been able to sleep better as a result since my room doesn't get hot at night now. My room is about 300 square feet so it covers a pretty decent area. Instructions for using it are simple and it's easy to assemble. Also doesn't take up much space either. Definitely worth the purchase so far. Without an outside air feed to bring in dry air, evaporative coolers are just humidifiers; this item turns your hot room into a hit & muggy room. Also hardly any air flow.

Only has room for 2-3 of the icepacks in a nonremovable tank. I used refrigerated water and 2 icepacks in 88.7° ambient room temp, and it produced an 84.6° breeze. Relief for 1 person sitting 4 feet away. Very hard to drain.
