Great ice maker - it cranks out the ice! The first sheet fell in about 12 to 13 minutes. I set the cycle to "+6 minutes" because my South Florida garage is a bit warmer so I wanted the to give the cube thickness some extra production time. I get unending sheets of ice cubes about every 18 minutes now. This feature works very well. The keypad is very user intuitive and takes no time to figure out. The unit itself is the perfect size to fit between my workbench and toolbox so when the day grows long, and I have a cocktail calling my name, I never even need to leave the garage! The most important concern I had about this ice maker is that it would run up my electricity bill. I was so wrong. This little workhorse burns only around 264 watts while making ice and only around 300 watts (very briefly) during the ice harvest cycle when the tray is heated. My first thought was that I was going to turn the ice machine on only when I need ice but this thing is so efficient on electricity and water that I leave it on full time. The "ice full" paddle is very effective in keeping the ice supply at the perfect level. I'd estimate that the bin holds around 35 pounds of ice. Note: there is also a plastic ice scoop included! The ice maker installation was a 4 beer project. It took a little bit of time but I was up to the task in order to have an abundant supply of ice cubes: I tapped into my water heater for the water supply line. For the drain I popped through an exterior wall. This was the most time consuming because I've got a concrete block house. (See pictures.) A couple of additional helpful notes: - I purchased an in-line 1/4" tubing water filter for high quality ice. This was a great addition and super cheap online. Simply cut the tubing between the supply side and the ice maker and push each tube end into the filter. Be sure to run a few gallons of water into a bucket first to prime and rinse the filter. - Regarding the drain installation, just make sure your drain outlet is below the drain in the bottom of the bin and you will have no issues. I also let the unit stand upright for half a day as the "freon" in the unit is propane-based and should be settled in the condenser before first powering on. - Lastly, since we fish offshore weekly, there are times that I need far more ice than what is in the bin. I bought 10 pound ice bags online (cheap!) and have a bunch of these pre-filled in my freezer. At any given time, I have about 80 pounds of ice ready to fill all the boat coolers as well as the kill boxes. If you hunt or fish, this Cowsar ice maker should be on your list of must have equipment. If your refrigerator ice maker is like mine and not up to the task of supplying enough ice for your crew of heavy drinkers at your next party, I highly recommend the Cowsar ice machine without reservation. This thing will help make your party the talk of the town!

This thing cranks out the ice. Can fill the bin in a few hours. As others have mentioned the blocks do tend to stick together but nothing a sharp smack with the included ice scoop can't handle. Makes ice quick but does generate some heat in the process. Duh that's how refrigeration works. Don't keep it in an enclosed space like a pantry. Bought the extra 2 yr warranty jic.

We love this machine for our Automotive Shop! Makes ice quickly and we especially like the fact that you can change the thickness of the cubes. Machine stopped working 6 months after we purchased and Cowsar refunded us 100% of our purchase price and we reordered! Love it so much we ordered a second machine for home!!

I saved and saved for a good icemaker and this is not the one. It made plenty of ice to keep up with our demands, but once it was full it started melting. Then I’d have to put a brand new water bit the processes happening. I’m paralyzed and can’t get to store to return it so I’m at a loss

This thing produces ice so fast. It’s perfect to fill my cooler full of ice for my fishing trips. Every 15 minutes and it’ll drop a tray full of ice. It will hold up to 33lbs of ice and up to 100lbs a day.

10-2-25- Review update: Received a call from support after submitting my review, the lady that called immediately had a new ice maker sent out., we hooked it up and it worked perfect, it was just a pain to receive a defective one and not knowing it was defective until after it was hooked up the first time, but this business did make it right and we are happy with the working ice machine. Received model HZB-45A Automatic Ice Maker and installed per instructions and immediately received an E2 error message. Unit will not get cold nor produce ice. Called Rowan Electric Appliance LLC customer support and was told the item was defective and that these units are not refrigerated and will not keep the ice cold. We paid over $300 for this unit. Support did not offer any solution or help. Looked the company up on the BBB and was shocked to see the reviews. BUYER BEWARE!
