Good size and value. It took a while to get it ready for making ice the first time. That was disappointing. It makes it quickly but only 8 or 9 cubes at a time. It does not keep the cubes cold so you have to dump the basket often to put into the freezer so they don't get warm and freeze together. I didn't expect that. Once I got the hang of it, I kept it going while working in the kitchen until I filled a bag for the freezer. It's better than dumping trays of ice.

I have had this ice maker for a little over a year and am very happy with it. It makes enough for my needs (single person household) and has worked great the entire time. My one concern is with keeping the interior clean enough. There is an area back behind the rods that create the ice cubes that got VERY yucky with mold. It is an area that isn't easy to see, let alone get to. I noticed the area recently and got to work. I took out the two screws that hold the top housing and CAREFULLY lifted the lid (there are wires so was careful not to pull on them or get them wet). That gave me a little bit of a clearer look at what was going on. I then took a toothbrush and cleaned - but could only get to the area by putting the toothbrush head between the ice rods....it was a little tricky but worked. Then, I ran the auto clean feature a couple of times to be sure everything cleared. This is the only design "problem" I've found...otherwise, this unit has been great!!

Just got my new ice maker. I let it stand for an entire day before making ice. next I completed the descaling operation to clean the machine. The instructions recommended using water and vinegar into the machine and allowed it to clean. I repeated the descaling steps at least 3 times. It only takes 30 minutes to complete the cleaning cycle. After descaling, I made 2 batches of ice (these batches were discarded). My final batch, I used bottled water and the taste was great. It does take a while for the ice basket to fill up. The machine is not that noisy, It makes enough ice. If you have an ice bucket, be sure to remove the ice from the machine and put it in your freezer for best results. The ice does freeze together in solid blocks. Just break it apart and the size is okay. It looks like bullet ice with the hole in the center. Be sure to drain any water left in the machine. The drain plug is under the machine., a little hard to get to. I like this ice maker, at least I get better tasting ice without all the fuss. Easy to operate and convenient.

Makes ice quickly but doesn’t have refrigeration to keep it cold so ice is constantly melting and being remade. My main issue with this ice make is how loud it is when it is running (which is almost constantly because of all the melting and refreshing). For its size it doesn’t really make much ice. We were hoping to use it at our camper so we don’t have to bring coolers of ice up all the time but it’s just too small. At capacity the ice doesn’t even fill 2 glasses. That being said, it doesn’t make ice and it is pretty quick about it. The ice is also very delicate and melts quickly- not like the ice from ice cube trays or refrigerator ice machines- so using for anything other than drinks is out of the question.
