We got a brand new couch and I wanted to discourage using it as a scratching post. It was relatively easy to put together (except how the pegs just sit on the holes and can make it a little difficult to put on the scratcher part without using wood glue to hold it together first). It's been holding up to vigorous scratching by my biggest cat and he prefers the feel of it over the softer fiber of the couch, so it's doing its job. ... show more

I am super happy with this purchase. It was very easy to assemble and it blended nicely with room. Super durable, the bottom makes it more sturdy and it is the only thing they scratch on. I highly recommend it!!

    • The assembly instruction is confusing
The kit includes two types of screws, A and B. A is longer and thicker than B. A has flat end, while B has pointed end. However, it was hard to tell the difference between A and B in the instruction.

What a disappointment! Wasn’t too hard to put together but does t stand up. When my 9 week old kitty tries to use it it tips over scaring her.

Like some other reviewers mentioned, the instructions received with this product should have been simple, but the diagram on mine had the wrong type of screws labeled. I attached a photo for anyone else wasting 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get screw B through a tiny hole in the bottom of the wood, only to discover that screws A and B fit perfectly in the exact OPPOSITE configuration labeled on the diagram 🙄 Once I figured that out it was easy enough to build, although I don't think this product should have cost nearly as much as it did. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Update: owner reached out and refunded us and apologized for the missing parts. We were able to make it work with some wood glue. It does the job and our cats like it. Original review: Overpriced, bare minimum quality, bad assembly instructions (although simple enough assembly to figure out), a missing wooden dowel and 2 extra screws. The seller obviously cut every corner possible, because there's no reason to have 2 pieces of wood you put back together with dowels that don't even fit, that are only being held together by a scratching pad you could buy along with $5 of wood to make the exact same thing. I just got hustled y'all lol, keep looking this product is not it. ... show more

    • Great Once We Got the Right Parts
When we received our first unit, we couldn't put it together as the pieces provided weren't drilled in the correct pattern. We returned the first unit and received a prompt replacement (within two days), and the new one had the right parts and was very easy to assemble. Solid wood, so it should hold up well, and the carpet can be replaced over time as needed. We like it's designed to have the weight of the furniture hold it upright, although our cat is likely to take this as more of a challenge than a convenience, lol. ... show more
