Pros: nice hardwood table that made this the seat everyone fights for on movie night. The back has nice rubber padding to keep wood from scraping and keeps it firmly in place. The size is enough to hold a tablet, notebook for journaling, a larger laptop (it is stable even though the sides hang over), multiple remotes, phones, cups or snacks. Cons: I really wish they had used darker hardware. The spring hinges are so bright they glare at you against the dark finish. I may have to find a way to paint them. While the finish on 97% of the wood is smooth and even, the surface around the inner edge is pretty rough. I may be a little picky taking off a star for those two things...wish I could take off a half star. But the bright hardware pushed it down to 4 stars. If that won't bug you, I highly recommend this piece. Last minor con....if you have super fidgety teens, this becomes their new fidget, that may rub a nerve or two. 😉 NO fault of the product, just a heads up. ... show more

This is the handiest tray I never knew I needed, I really like having this to hold my drink, my remote control, and a device while I work out and it's right next to me on the couch arm. I am sure it will get more use than that, but I needed something to keep my things close because some of my workouts are 30-60 minutes a day, and having a few items in reach at any moment's notice is nice. This will fit most couch arms or recliners but if you're going to recline and use this I would not. Because when you relax your chair the arms may change the angle of the table so if you have a drink on it it could slip down and fall off. Maybe try this with an empty plastic cup and fill it with something with weight that is easy to clean up like marbles or rocks. If the armrest doesn't tilt back with you, then there is no worry. The flaps that hang down really do have a tight grip on the couch and non-skid built-in. They will falange out if you have a larger armrest. If you have a very oversized fluffy or strangely shaped couch this might not work. The arm can be rounded or flat. Made from a beautiful acacia wood that wipes clean with a damp cloth. I’ve been wanting one of these armrest trays for a while, but every time I look at them they always seem kind of flimsy or not quite the right size. I took a chance on this one based on other reviewers comments about how strong it is and how well it holds on. Well, it’s true. The wood is thick and solid. There is substantial rubber padding on the bottom and on the “wings.” And there are four strong spring-loaded hinges that keep the tray gripping whatever you put it on. I put it on a leather club chair that has a wide, curved armrest and it went on with no trouble at all. Very satisfied with this! ... show more

This is a very solid armrest tray indeed: thick wood, solid hinges, and strong coiled springs to hold it all in place. On my couch I can even lean on it a bit, and it barely budges! What a relief after several other flimsier models I had been trying to fit. It looks good, too, on an armrest that is the exact width (9.25"), and bonus, it's striped which matches my floor. Two caveats as to the looks though: - one, the hinges are very prominent and I would have preferred to not see those at all (which to be fair might not be possible without them protruding on the underside and create a leveling problem). - And two, my sample had one unfinished- looking edge (see pics for detail) and an irregularity on the inner edge. I actually feel I might have gotten a design sample or used piece, which I'm okay with. Despite the cosmetic issues, I still feel this is a 5-star product - just be prepared to return/replace yours comes with defects also. ... show more

The quality of this table is impressive. It's thick, sturdy, and ready to go right out of the box. The springs are STRONG, making it universal for almost any couch arm. It attached easily and most importantly felt extremely secure. It's also stylish and made of beautiful wood, matching our decor perfectly. The surface is about the size of a magazine, so it can hold quite a bit. I use it for my tumbler, the remote, and other items that usually end up in the cracks of the couch. This would make a fantastic gift for someone with limited space! This was also great to hold a bottle of nail polish while I did my nails watching TV. This is a great product! ... show more

    • Be Very Careful Removing or Placing & Keep Away From Kids

As much as this table serves a purpose, holding firmly on the arm of a chair, the side pieces that fold down on each side of the chair's arm, are held in place by extremely powerful springs. This mechanism pushes firmly against the chair arm, keeping the tray in place. The tray comes folded shut and when I went to put it on the arm I started pulling it open. Accidentally, I let go and it instantly snapped shut. You have to carefully open it because, if you pull the sides out for placement and you do accidentally let go, or your hand slips, your fingers better not be between the tray and the side pieces. The springs are so strong they act like mouse traps and will snap shut hurting you if your hand or fingers. get caught. This could be extremely dangerous for younger children, especially if it snaps closed on a little hand or arm. This does not mean it is unusable--it just needs to be placed with care and probably in places away from little hands and arms. ... show more
