Did you know that the Oeko-Tex certification is certification of highest standards in textiles? It certifies that every component of the product, from the fabric to the thread and accessories, has been rigorously tested against a list of up to 350 toxic chemicals. (I know this because flight attendants love to complain about their uniforms making them sick and ours now have this certification. ) That aside, there's no product I'd want to have this certification for more than something I'm going to spend half my life lying my body on- So you can sleep well knowing 350 chemicals you don't want leeching into your skin are NOT in this comforter! It's 95% water fowl down and feather fibre and 5% water fowl down. I appreciate the corner loops which hold this comforter in place in the duvet cover. It's lightweight and comfortable. I was hoping it might sleep a little cooler than our prior comforter. (Arghh my hot flashes have returned.) It sleeps, or maybe I should say I sleep, about the same as far as temperature- which is to say it keeps you warm. Regardless, this is a very nice comforter. Recommend! ... show more

The first time I slept under a huge duvet like this filled with down and feathers was in a B&B in Holland in a 3rd story guest room where they turned the heat off (on purpose) in the middle of the night during winter! What I thought was going to be a freezing night turned out to be one of the most comfortable I had ever experienced! This duvet brings me the same comfy feeling! My husband keeps our A/C cold enough for the bedroom to feel like a meat locker! I started out snuggling under this and now he’s pulling it towards him!     • These need smaller panels, I think.
The 4 star review is tentative because while it seems fine for now, every duvet and comforter I've had like this in the past ends up turning to clumps after a year and no amount of time in the dryer seems to put it proper again. It's been a while though, so I'm willing to give it a shot and hope that bedding technology has improved. The fact that it has a cotton shell is a good sign, and it does seem to be well made. So that leaves room for a little optimism. I still think that making the panels smaller might mitigate the clumping issue that is inherent to feather products of any kind. Unless you add enough down . . . so we'll see. ... show more

    • Love This Comforter!
This is a great puffy comforter! The encasing fabric is soft and smooth. It keeps me warm down into temperatures of the 30’s with no other blankets. It is thick and well baffled into 12 inch squares. It is an excellent value for the price, and I am very happy that I ordered it. Highly recommended.

I don't know what else to say. This is just so comfortable and so pretty and fluffy and nice! It feels luxurious and high quality. I have had a difficult time finding a good queen-sized, lightweight comforter in my price range. When I ran across this one, I wondered if there was a catch --some flaw or missing feature that I had overlooked. Well, I haven't found it yet. I'm using this comforter on a standard double bed because I like my covers a bit large. It would fit a queen, but it may not hang over the edge as much. It feels warm and heavy without being oppressive. I don't need too much warmth down here in the South, but I do like my bed covers to have a little weight. I also like the cream color. I'll eventually need to get a cover, but for now I'm going to enjoy it like it is! ... show more

We really love this duvet comforter. It arrived in a vacuum sealed bag that kept it very compact. After opening we put it in the dryer for 10 mins as instructed and it assumed its intended fluffiness. Fitting it into the duvet cover was surprisingly easy, aided by the corner loops. This comforter feels comfortably warm and evenly so, due to the baffle-box stitched construction keeping the down filling from shifting or bunching up in spots. Plus, the knowledge that it has RDS and OEKOTEX certifications certainly makes us sleep better. Great product and great value! ... show more

    • Heavy blanket sleeper? This could be the model for you!
My wife thought this down comforter would be perfect for me because I tend to like a heavy blanket. It appeared to be a good bet. When it arrived I loved the heavy weight of the blanket, and it is true to size for our bed. I slept under it for several nights. However, it is not my favorite blanket. For me it is too heavy on me through the night. The exterior fabric is soft, but not fuzzy in any way. The filling seemed to be well distributed when I opened the package. This is a great blanket for someone who enjoys that weighted blanket feeling - I will say it will keep you warm if your home is a little chilly. I like, too, that the fabric makes the blanket feel cool in sections while keeping you warm. If you are snuggled up in it, and need a quick cool feeling, moving to another spot of the blanket seems to give that chilling effect - this might be important if you tend to have hot spells. ... show more

I ran this in the dryer for 20 minutes on low heat as recommended. Not sure if the filling should cover the entire area in the comforter or not, but you can see that it seems to bunch up and not fill the entire square area. As for softness, it is extremely soft. It also is heavier than my old one. Some other items of interest is that it did not send any feathers everywhere when it was in the dryer as my old one does and each corner has a loop for attaching to a cover. ... show more
