In my family & household, we are not usually brand loyal but...when it's come to toilet paper, and trying many kinds over the years, we've definitely become toilet paper snobs and only buy Cottonelle now. It just works, as it should, and it's a very nice quality, soft but durable, and the thickness is just right so it doesn't easily soak or bleed through...and, you don't need a lot of it to do the job. You got to love that texture too, those lines/ripples are just nice. Plus, works well with the nose too. I definitely like it, as a female who uses the bathroom a lot [small bladder!] because it is gentle on the gentle parts and no reactions or irritations like some TP causes, major plus! We're not necessarily specific on which "style" of Cottonelle we get, all work fine. BUT this thing these kind of companies are doing, like calling a 6pk a 12pk or a 12pk a 30pk -- or whatever they do, is just SO silly! Just call a 6 pack a 6 pack, a 12 pack a 12 pack and so on. Please, LoL!! As for costs and value, Cottonelle is pricier than some IF you're only looking at sticker costs. BUT people will buy "cheaper" toilet paper only to have to tear off 2x or 3x [or more!] the amount each time for it to work; you're probably spending way more per product used by buying the cheap or thinner papers.
