Chose size 5x hoping it would be loose. Also because this item was supposed to be cotton and linen, breathable. I don't know what the material was but it was not just cotton it had synthetic quality it almost feels waxy on the surface. I bought several pairs in several colors. One of the darker green pairs said it was polyester. I would not buy polyester it does not breathe. Anyways they did refund me my money and the fit was a bit snug even though that's not my size regularly. Buyer beware it is not what it says it is on the post. These are very comfortable. The waistband fits comfortably and the string is easy to tie. They are wrinkle resistant, i had them wadded up in my clean clothes hamper for a few days while recovering from surgery and there were no wrinkles. They are lightweight and breathable. these shorts run very large, when washed you have to iron the bottom cuffs, the color will run on all your wash so wash seperately, the cotton is heavy and will be hot. Just terrible.
