Bought it to try packing for extended travel without a hard-sided suitcase and using carry-on rather than checked luggage. Was apprehensive based on reviews but very glad I went ahead and ordered it. PROS 1. Lot of space, for everything. Convenient zippered areas within the bag to keep stuff from moving around. 2. Unexpected access points --- zipper on the side to get into the bag and access stuff that's not at the top 3. Carrying handle so you can carry like a suitcase 4. Overall manageable size for a smaller person (I'm 5'9") 5. Backpack allows user to tuck in the shoulder straps so they are completely hidden (brilliant!) 6. Detachable waist strap 7. Includes a "fly" and an internal zipper pocket to store it 8. Fabric strips sewn across the path of the zipper to keep the zipper from unzipping - YAY zippers don't unexpectedly unzip ! CONS 1. Fabric strips sewn across the path of the zipper to keep the zipper from unzipping - BOO when you want to unzip the zipper handle is obstructed by the fabric. It's doing it job but it's hella annoying and could be avoided by a different zipper handle configuration. 2. Carrying handles are thin strip of nylon fabric and after just a little use, it crinkles up into almost a cord link knot of fabric which is uncomfortable to carry for very long. Another easy design fix! Overall, love the bag.

I use this bag for everything, short and long term travel, hiking, overnights, etc. Every part is intelligently designed and they really cut no corners. There are loops that prevent the zippers from opening without you knowing, there is a way to enter a part of the main compartment without opening the entire bag. It opens completely like a book (or a suitcase). It has an outside padded pocket for a small laptop or tablet. It's sturdy with clips to hold it to your back comfortably. There is a removable back brace that contours your back making it nearly weightless when walking/hiking. Just 100% premium all around with double stitches, additional material to protect corners, an included water/rain protector that you can put over it. There are much cheaper bags (my room is full of them), but you absolutely get what you pay for. This bag is meant to last years.

I purchased this bag for my sons trip to Greece. It was super big and everything he needed for 2 weeks fit. Great quality materials, definitely worth the investment, because it is a tad bit pricy. Love love love it !!!! The color selections was up to you we went with the featured tan. My son said it was comfortable to wear and not to heavy as far as weight is concerned.

I bought this bag for all the interior pockets, seemed amazing to keep things so segmented and organized. But having used it on a few trips, I find it annoying to have to fully unzip the whole thing and then further unzip another pocket to dig out what I want. Overall, the bag is super durable and well made, the colors are fun.

I'd ordered one of these from the Cotopaxi website first, but didn't like the colors, so I returned it after I received this one. I used this as my carry-on item on JetBlue and it was perfect. I used it as a backpack and would then hide the back straps in their designated compartment and used the side handles when we were boarding, so that it was ready for me to just place on the overhead bin. I love that it has handles on all sides, so even if bags shift during flight, you can quickly grab it from any side. It's basically a soft suitcase, as it opens sideways and has the big zipper on one side and the two on the other, so you can fit pretty much anything you'd need for a week long vacation. Very well made, zippers are sturdy and the material is thick enough that I wasn't worried about it getting snagged or caught on anything. I found that using ziplock bags of different sizes made it easier for me to pack, but everything fit in it before I decided to use the bags. I fit a pair of heels, water shoes, evening gown, underwear, bathing suits, shorts, long pants, shirts, snorkeling mask, turkish towel, toiletries, souvenirs, hat, evening purse, collapsible backpack, etc. I love it and have already ordered their Batac 16L backpack to hopefully switch into from a purse for daily use!
