  • One of the best naturals out there
Scent: Vanilla Sky
And believe me, I've tried many. Sure it's pricey but it is long lasting, beautiful mild aroma and does what it says on the package. One downside is yellow residue on armpits of white clothes, because this goes on as a soft paste and can transfer. However this washes out easily. I am on my second tube of this stuff and stand by it. ... show more

  • Works great and doesn’t get gross and gunky
Scent: So Hot Right Now
I decided to try this deodorant after being tired of Native. I don’t like how Native still makes plastic tubes, recycled or not, and how (in my experiences) Native’s consistency turns rather gross and gunky. I’ve been using Papr for a month and I’ve been enjoying it. I actually look foreword to my morning application. It feels smoother to apply than Native and it doesn’t accumulate into little embarrassing chunks on the surface of my bare underarms. I haven’t smelled throughout my days of using this deodorant, just the dreamy scent of “So Hot Right Now.” I even spent an entire day at an amusement park with this deodorant and didn’t smell! ... show more

  • My favorite plastic-free deodorant
Scent: Vanilla Sky
I saw some reviews that criticized the "natural" ingredients harming their skin... so either the company isn't disclosing all ingredients (hiding things in the FRAGRANCE ingredient) or those reviewers don't realize yet that natural ingredients, especially cold-pressed essential oils, what the company says they use in their fragrance, can be extremely irritating to some, regardless of the fact they are 100% natural and come from the Earth. I mean, poison ivy is one example of something perfectly natural that harms most people's skin. Anyway, moving on. Who cares if it's slightly inconvenient? I love the "Get over it!" on the packaging because it's SO TRUE. We are all so accustomed to these plastic packages that are convenient but silently killing us and the planet. Not worth it to me. I'd rather struggle a little with this deodorant. Taking your time to do things mindfully can't hurt your mental health either. Of course we will all have those days where we're running late and this will piss us off, but again, long-term health outcomes for humans + Earth is far better than one bad day. I have one that a whole piece of the deodorant packaging fell off, and it still works perfectly fine. I just found I have to now store it upside-down. No big deal. I've only tried two scents so far. The vanilla and another one, musk something. They are both incredible, but vanilla is my fav so far. And last for those with issues on the pricing.... my first stick lasted 8 months. I'm a professional athlete and I use this every day. Still lasted 8 months. So, yeah, I think it's pretty affordable. And also consider that it's more expensive for companies to use safe ingredients. We don't live in a world where companies are rewarded for focusing on conservation. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. ... show more

  • Harsh on the skin.
Scent: So Hot Right Now
I love the paper packaging, I bought this as a substitute for a different brand that I love that was unavailable. It’s very pretty, and big ups for no plastic. I found the musky scent to actually be very powdery/perfumey. I do not like it at all. It doesn’t jive with my chemistry and I felt like I smelled like a dusty old sweater having been stored in a closet with mothballs for too many years. But, to each their own. Everybody has got different scent preferences. This deodorant did not stand up to the heat. I’m not new to natural deodorants, obviously they do not perform like an antiperspirant. However this one in particular I found to have a pretty short efficacy window, especially compared with other natural deodorants that use similar ingredients. it did not last to the end of my work day, and on the days I was doing anything even remotely aerobic it was gone within an hour or so. The most condemning factor for this product was the nasty rash I developed on my pits after about 1 week of use. Pretty sure that sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is the primary active ingredient and there’s a LOT of it in the formulation. I have pretty sensitive skin so this may not apply to other folks. The rash i developed was itchy and painful and only cleared up after a couple days of putting nothing on my pits and then switching back to my regular brand. Baking soda is a cheap and not super effective deodorant, additionally it can be very abrasive on the skin. There are other things that work better and don’t hurt. That being said, for the overall cost of this product I’d strongly recommend against it. It’s not super effective, not for sensitive skin, and I personally don’t like the musk scent. HeyHumans is a similar plastic-free tube for less money, i LOVE some of their scents, and they are surprisingly long lasting. Superb even. And I’ve never had any irritation from their deodorants. ... show more

  • Not sure why it’s asking about warmth and thickness...
Scent: From Dusk Till Dawn
I wanted to like this. As we are trying to reduce our plastic waste I bought the Papr deodorant and Each & Every deodorant in citrus scents to compare. PapR had the packaging I wanted and the scent I wanted and the company is local, which was a bonus. I tried this brand first and used it for 3 weeks. It doesn’t stain that I have seen. The scent is nice, but not very strong. The experience of using the packaging and the natural deodorant is different, but not bad. The biggest issue I have is that is doesn’t have staying power — I can smell myself after 12 hours or a moderate work out. I do not like having to reapply and reapplication does not seem to be as effective. Also, it made my pits a little itchy. No trashy, but dry itchy — probably the baking soda. Overall, not a great experience. I have been using the Each & Every for the past few days and there is no comparison: the packaging is sustainable, sleek (no biggie, but really nice), and easier to use... but still plastic, ugh. The scent is stronger and lasts the entire day and then some, plus no itchy pits. The price, while high, is comparable to PapR, but since no reapplication is necessary, I think it’s going to give me a bigger bang for my buck. If I could put the Each & Every deodorant into the PapR packaging, it would be perfect, but as it is I need to keep looking. ... show more
