  • Small but very impressive
Smaller than I thought, lighter than I imagined (I'm 5'6 and I can carry this thing myself) and more power than you'd think. It does take quite a bit of time to wash a small basket of clothes. Took me 6 hours, 1 hr per load. You can only wash maybe 3 pairs of jeans (depending on size) at a time. I haven't tried to wash bath towels yet. The spin side is small, only one pair of jeans can fit in it. Towels may be too heavy to spin. But it will spin your clothes pretty dry. Very impressive. On YouTube there are videos of people living in tiny homes and in one, 15 gallons of water was used to wash. I'm not sure what the standard full size washer uses, but 15 gallons seemed like a lot. I live in an apartment, so I don't pay for the water usage only electricity. So I can't say, for now, how much of a money saver this is. I will say, I would get $100 in quarters to use the communal washer/dryer area a month. Hoping this will cost less. I use the washer in my bath tub. Because of the vibration of the spin cycle, I've had to place the washer on a towel to prevent it from sliding in the tub. The washer is fairly quiet when in use, but you can still hear it. You should be able to do a load of laundry without interrupting one's sleep if you needed to. Especially if it's in a bathroom and you can close the door. The draining is souly based on gravity. So make sure the draining tube is low enough to drain the water properly. Once I'm finished, I keep the doors open to allow the unit to dry once it has completely drained. Also, clean the tub floor when you're done doing laundry. It will be very slippery for the next person taking a shower. Let's not fall, shall we? If you have a big and tall enough cabinet, you can possibly fit this thing right in it. I have mine in a bedroom closet. Takes up no more room than one large peice of luggage. ... show more

  • Very Straight Forward Product
This product is super simple in all the ways about it. Simple color scheme (a neutral grey/white), three control knobs (wash timer, wash selector, and spin timer), two water hookups (which I never used), and one drainage hose. Wash timer is very simple and labeled in minutes. Turn to the time you want, and you're done. If you want to cancel early, simply turn the knob back to 0. Wash selector is simple, three options; Gentle, Normal, and Drain. Gentle cycle turns the pulsator short times and longer pauses between turns. Drain, well that's what drains the Washer side. Note, the spinner side is always in "drain mode" no matter what setting the wash control is in. Speaking of spinner, super simple. Turn to how long you want to spin, most things are two minutes or less. As mentioned, the washer is 12 lbs capacity. I can wash an entire weeks of work clothes in one load; two khaki pants, 5 white t-shirts, and 5 polo shirts. If you do the math, this requires me to split the load into two in order to spin. Which brings me to the spinner, super simple to use. Place the wet clothes in, take the spin cap and press the clothes down firmly, close both lids (there's two) and spin. How I use the machine: I use cold water detergent as it works so much better when using cold water, also saves on heating costs (electric/gas). I place a 5 gallon bucket under the bath faucet and turn on the cold water starting to fill up the bucket. I then place the machine into the tub. First full bucket i pour directly into the washer and then add my soap (very little amount). Start bucket number two. I turn on the washer for two spins (5 seconds or so) to mix and then put in the clothes. Bucket two is normally done (only need about 3 more gallons) and fill until needed. Normally just use setting at three minutes, sweaty/dirty I go to 6. Depending on how many loads I have, I may reuse the water again with just adding a tad bit more soap. Or, I'll drain it and fill it up with fresh water and then reuse the rinse water for the second load. When done rinsing I will then run through the spinner for 2 minutes and to remove the soap i spin for only 30 seconds. I then hang up to dry which is normally done within an hour. Jeans obviously can take a bit longer. Do not recommend large blankets. Sheets are easily done. Quality: It's on the cheaper side, but has held up for almost a month with weekly washes up to 4 loads each week. So signs of it breaking anytime soon. I would defiantly buy this as a gift if you have a family member moving to a small apartment or even a dorm that has a bathroom in the room! Special note: This is gravity drained, so the machine must be higher than where you are draining. So the hose must go down. This is why i put it directly in the bathtub. ... show more

  • Impressive
Watching all the videos before I purchased it. Everyone would rinse in the big tub after spinning. Heck, the water intake on the spin side rinses the close if you hook it up. My shirts came out the same as if I used a big washer. I ran water 3 times about 10 seconds each time while it was spinning. It did great!! ... show more
