I have owned the Saltbreak Blackout Plastic lens model for about 7 years. They were fantastic for the first year or so. Then the rubber padding on the nosepiece began to come apart in little chunks, shortly after that, the rubber padding on the arms began to peel away. Let me just say that I took exceptional care of these VERY expensive sunglasses. I did not leave them in my hot car and they were only rinsed with cool water and wiped with a microfiber cloth. One day at Disney World, the glasses were knocked off of my head and they fell lens first on to the concrete. One on the lenses had a small spec right in the middle. Time to send them in for repair. I explained in the repair order about the other issues with the deteriorating rubber. Costa states in their repair policy that replacing damaged lenses will be the responsibility of the customer (about $100). No problem. It wasn't their fault after all. I included payment for new lenses. The rest would be covered by Costa. I sent them off. They returned several weeks later. I was surprised to find brand new glasses in the case. A little over a year later, the new glasses began to peel apart at the rubber pieces. It is a shame. I really love the clarity and quality of the lenses. However, the rest of the frame is quite disappointing. I have owned $30 glasses that have way better frames and even metal hinges. Love the lenses though. ... show more
