Description

Few plants are as stylish and sophisticated as bonsai. These tiny trees are part of a centuries-old Asian tradition of training trees into beautiful forms that exhibit symmetry and balance. Although traditional Japanese bonsai live outdoors, you can enjoy these little trees indoors—in your office, your kitchen, your bedroom, or bathroom. These tiny trees add just the right touch of dramatic decor to any indoor space. Since they come in various sizes they fit perfectly on desks, tabletops and even shelves. Bonsai prefer a bright spot indoors; place in a room where your bonsai will receive a significant amount of indirect light during the day. Water when the soil is dry (about once a week). If the container does not have holes, use approximately half a cup of water, adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Bonsai sit in overly soggy soil. The height is approximately 10 inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The Bonsai ships in premium, 3.75-inch ceramic planter topped with moss. Tohelp with water drainage, this container does have a hole. The Bonsai is a slow grower depending on its environment and is hardy in USDA Zones 9 or higher. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for house plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the plant, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. Never showed any signs of prosperity. Leaves dried up and fell off on the Bonsai mini. This was placed in the shaded south window same area as the money tree plant I order at the same time. One lived this one did not. I would like a credit for this plant. I know it is past time for a refund but I kept hoping it would do better. Like others have said.. they really shouldn't advertise that height as it is very small. After all the photos on other reviews I was expecting a different type of plant but it was well packed and made the trip.

This Bonsai tree arrived very well packed, and the soil was moist. Once shipped, it went UPS 2-day which was reassuring. I was waffling between three and four stars for the below reasons. I needed a very specific variety of Bonsai (Ficus Ginseng) for a gift and couldn’t find a healthy one in any of my local nurseries or stores. I didn’t realize until after ordering that it was the grower’s choice on which variety I would be receiving, and the purchase was non-returnable. I reached out to Amazon customer service who were amazing and provided me the farm’s customer service number. The farm was too busy to take my call, and I was forced to leave a message. The frustrating part was they finally called me back at 5:50 AM on the day the tree was being delivered! (Grrr) At this point, if it was the wrong species I was stuck with a plant I didn’t want. Also, at 5:50 AM there was NO WAY I was answering the phone… Another three star reason – the size. The listing states a 1-year-old 10” tree. I received something much smaller. (See photos) I landed on 4-stars for these reasons though. 1.) The tree is the species I requested in my phone voicemail. Is it because they got my message and specifically shipped it? I’ll never know but I’m so glad it worked out! 2.) This little tree is extremely healthy! The leaves are all shiny and a dark green. 3.) They included a cute white pot with a drain hole that will fit this little tree for at least the next year or so. 4.) It came with a lot of information for the amateur grower ... show more
