Description

Few plants are as stylish and sophisticated as bonsai. These tiny trees are part of a centuries-old Asian tradition of training trees into beautiful forms that exhibit symmetry and balance. Although traditional Japanese bonsai live outdoors, you can enjoy these little trees indoors—in your office, your kitchen, your bedroom, or bathroom. These tiny trees add just the right touch of dramatic decor to any indoor space. Since they come in various sizes they fit perfectly on desks, tabletops and even shelves. Bonsai prefer a bright spot indoors; place in a room where your bonsai will receive a significant amount of indirect light during the day. Water when the soil is dry (about once a week). If the container does not have holes, use approximately half a cup of water, adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let the Bonsai sit in overly soggy soil. The height is approximately 10 inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The Bonsai ships in premium, 3.75-inch ceramic planter topped with moss. Tohelp with water drainage, this container does have a hole. The Bonsai is a slow grower depending on its environment and is hardy in USDA Zones 9 or higher. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for house plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the plant, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. First of all it's like twice the size I thought it was or looked in the pictures. It's like half the height of the large monstera. I thought it was a little bonsai. There's so many bright green leaves and it's so curly and kooky. Just looking at it makes me happy. I'm going to buy these as all my future housewarming gifts. Shipping was perfect there wasn't a speck of dirt out of place and was very healthy. Worth every penny. I want like a hundred of these. I bought one plant from Costa and now I have 5 and I think 6 on the way with 4 more in my cart. I live in an apartment with only north and south facing small windows so I got a grow light and the other plants I've had for a few weeks have grown about 50% 2of them need to be transplanted to a larger pot soon already and I've killed every plant I've ever tried to care for before... But I haven't tried in 20 years. I also have been waking up in the morning the last few days without having to blow my nose. I don't have central air and live off a dirt road and there's just so much dust but it's getting better. I swear my window unit ac even works better. It hasn't gotten cold cold in like 3 years but right now it is. ... show more

She is beautiful. So much nicer than I expected. Larger and in perfect health!! Packaged well, no damage from her travels. The base is about 4" dia. centered in a nice 6" pot. I am tickled pink to have her. I think it was well worth the money.

On the plus side the plant arrived two days ahead of schedule,well packages and seems to be quite healthy. However,1) plant was described as 10" from bottom of pot to top of plant, it was only 8". 2) It was also described as growers choice which is fine but nowhere in the info included with the plant did it state what kind it is. How can you care for a plant if you don't know what kind it is. 3) Finally, the bonsai plant itself was loosely planted (and I do mean loosely) in a thin plastic nursery pot and placed in the ceramic pot shown. While I like the pot it does not have a hole in the bottom for drainage if you want to re pot. ... show more

Be sure to look up how to care for this "palm" (succulent). I almost killed it with overwatering (but it is coming back OK), and it really wants sunshine. Otherwise, it is a great plant!
