  • Dead After 4 Months!!!
ok it took 3 hours to figure out that one stick is dead, getting lots of BSODs lately like: IRQ_LESS_OR_EQUAL MEMORY_MANAGEMENT didnt come to my notice that the RAM might be faulty as i used Corsair Dominator DDR2 kit for almost 4 years and never got defected, either you get them DOA like it happened once to me or they just work and keep working, this is how corsair operates. at first, I thought its the CPU, however narrowed it down with AIDA64 until it caused BSODs asa i hit stress memory, so i grabbed memTest and stuffed in a bootable USB drive and 448 Errors asa the test runs (on 1% Test completion). So i started to just plug one stick at a time and test, one of them is badly defected. So i've just ordered another set and gonna RMA the defective ones, ill wait and see how things will turn around and update this review. for not being biased, i like corsair very much, they produce high quality RAM modules, but the only thing i blame corsair for is not testing their RAM very well. I just knokced 1 star so they can notice this and improve their QA before make them available for customers. but all in all RAM is gr8 and deserves 5 stars. UPDATE: i sent an email to RMA Dept. but got delayed response, i guess their email is not monitored. However, before i got the response, i was tired of waiting and called them via Skype using the Toll Free number they have as i'm an international user, their customer support is gr8, no complaints, im ready to RMA my defected set. Meanwhile, i have tested the new set i've recently ordered, both work gr8, no BSODs, no crashes, everything is stable now, so i'm just waiting for my replacement. If you want to buy this RAM and got hesitant because of other reviews saying DOA and this one, dont be, just get these RAM, Corsair offers life time warranty (10 years) and with the listed price, its a steal. ... show more

  • and was very pleased to have a flawless first time post
Hi readers, I ordered and installed this Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2x4 GB) DDR3 1600 onto my ASUS Z87 PRO (V-Edition) along with an Intel i5 Core 4690, and was very pleased to have a flawless first time post, and operation. It's been two weeks now running about six hours a day. No gaming, just movie editing, and work. I'm using a Samsung SSD, and from push button to turn on, everything is ready to go in just under 13 seconds!!! Like day and night compared to a HHD. I did a Passmark Performance Test and scored a 4671, which surprised me greatly. In summary, the Corsair ram I purchased has been crucial, (no pun intended), because my motherboard and cpu specify certain combinations that will work together. There is a wide variety of choices, and I chose this particular ram according to specs and my user intent. The only issue I had with this order which does not take away from the quality of the product, rather is directed to me and the Amazon Service. I tried the Amazon Prime 30 Trial, to get my ram in 2 days, which I didn't get in 2 days, it took 4 days from the moment I placed the order, and a mistake I made was not reading the terms of "30 Day trial". I was just charged an additional $105.23 for Amazon Prime because I didn't opt out within 30 days. My wife was pissed, and, as well, myself at myself for not paying closer attention. I called Amazon and they were very understanding and I got that Prime membership cancelled, and refunded back into my account. For me personally, I really do not see the need to pay that kind of money to get something I want fast. My bad. So, if you make this same mistake because your not paying close attention, count on it costing you $105.23, and that by the way is annually.... ... show more

  • Jury is still out - but hopeful
Bought these for a computer build I did for my husband. The machine booted up just fine, I installed Windows, some anti-virus software, and Microsoft Office. Everything looked like it was working well. He was anxious to start loading some games. Then came the first Blue Screen of Death. After 4 hours of operation, repeated IRQL errors were cropping up, resulting in Windows continuing to crash. I downloaded Memtest86+ and attempted to run a few passes. The program got less than half way through the first test and there were 699 errors already. Sooo, that answered the question on what was causing the BSOD's. I had one or more bad RAM sticks. On the positive side, Amazon replaced the sticks quickly and Memtest86+ ran a complete pass on them with 0 errors before I even bothered installing the OS. The computer is now humming along nicely. (I installed in this motherboard - Gigabyte Intel Z77 LGA 1155 AMD CrossFireX/NVIDIA SLI W/ HDMI,DVI,DispayPort Dual UEFI BIOS ATX Motherboard GA-Z77X-UD3H with this CPU - Intel Core i7-2600K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 Ghz 8 MB Cache LGA 1155 - BX80623I72600K). Husband is loving it so far. Fast and can handle most anything he'll put on it. I was not happy to have received defective sticks, but at least they've been replaced and are now functional. We will see if this remains the case. I will update if these should fail as well. UPDATE: The sticks that I used in my husband's machine are still delivering speed and reliability after 7 weeks. I just built another computer for our daughter yesterday and used another 8 GB of Corsair Vengeance RAM. Installed in another Gigabyte mobo (GA Z77X UD5H)with an Intel Core I7-2700k processor. Memtest86+ found no errors and so far, no BSODs. Corsair is regaining my confidence. ... show more
