If you stack these plates on top of one another it's obvious they're all slightly warped. But, you don't notice while looking at any one plate. That aside, these things are so durable, well-sized, and fancy that I fully intend on owning them for a few decades.

Since I've gotten older, I replaced all my heavier stoneware plates with the lighter weight Corelle ones. I already have a four piece set of Corelle round plates but wanted to use the square ones for a change. I want to point out that these square plates are slightly heavier than the round ones I have. This may be due to the corners not being "rounded" off so the additional inch or so in size on each corner may also contribute to the weight. Because of this size/shape, they also hold a little more food than the round ones. But I am happy with the purchase and expect these plates to outlive me. ... show more

It's funny...we've had these plates for about a month now and I still don't like to use them because they feel like the "special plates" that's reserved for company. They are GORGEOUS in person and so far they've held up really well, so I'd give them six stars if I could at the price. The design on these plates is slightly raised and that worried me, but I've scrubbed a few in the sink and they come away looking good as new. They've also been thru the dishwasher at least a dozen times and there's no chips, crack or anything like that, so I have a feeling that they'll last a long time. We haven't dropped one yet so I'm not sure if they're really shatter-proof as stated (I won't eat a sandwich off them...so I'm definitely not going to drop one on purpose!). But so far all is well. In terms of size, I think they're slightly larger than traditional dinner plates, but it's tough to tell since they're squared off. There is a round area in the center of the plate though so they stack well and are easy to hold onto (if you like walking around when you eat dinner, maybe?!?). All that said, I'm thrilled with this purchase and this will be our brand several years into the future. I have already ordered a 2nd set so we can phase out our older plates. ... show more
