Bought this item to block out sunlight and add privacy to my room. I am a disabled woman and hanging regular blinds was out of the question, so I purchased this vinyl black shade for the ease of installing. It arrived in good condition. My only battle with this shade was trimming it to fit the window. Beware; You're going to really need a tool knife or a cutting tool that can cut through the vinyl and plastic weight at the bottom of the shade. Unfortunately, I only had a kitchen knife and I was cutting and sawing for a good 15 minutes before getting the shade trimmed to fit properly. So, already worn out...I had to reach up over my head standing on a step stool and firmly apply and press the shade into place. Luckily, the adhesive is super powerful and it takes only 2 minutes or less and the shade is holding on very strong. You will have to carefully and patiently adjust some of the creases in the shade because they get pushed in or out while installing them. But they reshape nicely. The two clips that come with the shade are a sturdy hard clear plastic and they hold on to the shade when you need to let some light back in and the clips do not fall or lose their place. Overall, a very good product for simple privacy, sunblocking, at a good price for the value. I've used paper shades before and they work well too, but they don't last too long bc of the material. These are vinyl and the plastic is going to last I would say up to a year or two if they are used properly. Just be prepared & have the proper trimming tools to cut through the plastic safely. ... show more

These were perfect for my huge windows (74” length). They were easy to put up, the adhesive tape is strong, and it wasn’t difficult to neatly cut them to fit my windows (I was concerned it would be uneven, but all you need is a clear ruler and utility knife). I ended up buying more for every window in my apartment. The only downside is they do block sunshine from coming in the room (even in white) - it’s great for the bedroom, but I wish they had a more sheer version that didn’t block the sunshine from brightening up the living room. These are a great option for the price. Easy to install and great for blocking sun. However, the clips they send are worthless. If you drop them on the floor they are done and no longer grip securely. Large binder clips work as a good replacement. These are also a pain to fold up so if you plan on opening up the the blinds on a regular basis, get something else. All in all, great for the price but only if you want full blackout all the time. We've only had these up for a few weeks so can't speak to how well the adhesive holds up. ... show more

Great blackout shades! Definitely do a better job blocking light than any of the blackout curtains I have purchased. They seem a little flimsy, but my kids have been playing like maniacs with the extra width we cut off when installing and the material *definitely* holds up!! I am a little worried about the adhesive giving out, but we could easily modify & figure a different way to hang if necessary. As far as looks go... well, they just look like blinds from a distance. Close up you can tell they are all one piece pleated. . . but, they don't look terrible at all! I went with white and am happy with how they look, both from interior & exterior of home. **We bought to use instead of traditional mini blinds, installed behind our curtains in order to block the Texas sun on east & west side of house. They do their job well, are priced fairly, and don't look terrible either. You do have to cut to fit width, (it was fairly easy to do with box cutter), and I am not holding out hope for adhesive with our humidity. But, still very happy with purchase!** ... show more

If you're looking for a quick, easy-to-install fix, this works beautifully. They weren't hard to trim and the adhesion is very strong. I've had mine hanging for a couple of months and they're not going anywhere. I do wish I had splurged on the corded model because they are hard to raise. The paper is thin enough that it crinkles and doesn't always accordion back into place easily and the plastic clips are flimsy and cheap. I'm planning to buy some bar magnets to replace the plastic clips. I think that will help hold the blinds when I put them up. Putting the blinds up is an art form but once you get that down, it's not bad. And despite the cheap cost, they do look really sharp when they're lowered. I have the white and they've very light-resistant. Overall, a good decision for me. ... show more

I love these shades! Nice and clean look with no hardware. Super easy to install and definitely darkens a room. - moved into a new apt and the sun rise was a killer! This morning was nice and cozy in my cave. 😜 I've read they have lasted for up to 3 years. Even if they don't at this price - who cares. Only negative comment - I had to buy the shades (8 of them) with the clips. Which was fine - except for the fact that 2 of the clips needed to be fixed so I could use them. They arent too sturdy and already looked to see if they sell replacement clips. ... show more
