  • I like It. No Cord to Deal With. Plenty of Power. Simple to Use.
Style: 2*Batteries Kit
The Blycorul Cordless Polisher makes a perfect companion to my much larger Black & Decker corded buffer. The larger buffer is great for polishing expanses like the hood and roof of a vehicle, while the smaller, cordless handheld unit more easily gets into smaller areas without a cord getting in the way. And cordless is so much more convenient; a cord has weight of its own that adds to that of a buffer. The Blycorul Buffer rotates in small orbits and random patterns, otherwise known as a random orbital pattern. Many woodworking sanders are random orbital. The advantage is that it is less likely to leave swirl marks, since the edges of the working area are constantly being overlapped. The random orbit is visible when the unit has been turned off and is slowing to a stop. Notwithstanding the fact that I consider waxing and polishing a car to be a chore, albeit a necessary one, I found the cordless buffer to be a real pleasure to use. Like I said, cords have their own weight and get in the way, especially when manipulating the buffer around a car surface; getting stuck at the tires, or needing to be dragged to another location, all require more time and effort. Without that distraction, polishing and buffing were less frustrating and definitely completed in less time. The Cordless Buffer was delivered with two batteries; I completed a wax and buff of one SUV type vehicle on one battery with power to spare. When inserted, the battery, in more or less the shape of an equilateral triangle, is juxtaposed in such a way that the most convenient means of releasing it is by wrapping the hand around it, such that the crotch of the forefinger and thumb lies on top of it and the forefinger and thumb align with the two buttons used to release it. I mention this because it took me some time to figure this out. Trying to remove the battery from underneath the handle doesn’t allow enough leverage to facilitate the release, at least for me. In use, I found the balance to be comfortable. The unit has some weight to it, but weight that helps expedite the task at hand; it reduces the amount of pressure needed to be applied and makes the buffer more controllable. In addition, the gripping surfaces are rubberized for comfort and a non-slip grasp. The buffer has six speeds, a useful feature depending on the task at hand; speeds are adjusted using a rotating knob. Sitting above the speed control is a battery charge state indicator, a series of different colored LED lights. Plenty of buffing, polishing and even sanding attachments are included, some that wrap around the buffer head, others that are held on by the Velcro type hook and loop system of fixture. Honestly, I have no criticism of the Blycorul Cordless Buffer. It does what the seller says it does, and it does it well in my opinion. ... show more

  • Nice little polisher.
Style: 2*Batteries Kit
I haven't had a chance to actually use this on my headlight project yet, but the main thing I wanted to test was how much it took to bog the thing down. I used a small piece of sheet metal to do the test. At low speeds you can push it too hard and it will slow down, but at the higher speeds, I wasn't able to get it to slow down without possibly damaging the workpiece or the buffer as well. For the price, I think this is a nice little addition to my shop. ... show more

  • Powerful with strong battery
Style: 2*Batteries Kit
I have always used big clunky 120v buffers for detailing my cars. They work great, but by the end of the job I am in pain and completely exhausted. I wanted something that could get the job done, but that was lightweight and without the hassle of dragging a cord around. The Blycorul (???) cordless car buffer polisher really did what I needed it to. It is a really powerful machine and appears to be built very much like a random orbital sander but designed for buffing and polishing. It is light, and has 12v batteries that look a lot like the Bosch 12v system. If I had to complain about anything, it is the fact that the batteries are not compatible with the Bosch system even though they are almost identical. To charge these, you have to plug a cord into the battery itself and the charge indicator is on the transformer. I do not like this very much at all and think that it could be easily modified to be compatible with Bosch chargers or at least have its own proprietary charger. Other than that complaint, this thing works great. It is powerful and the battery strong enough to complete my GMC Sierra without needing my second battery. ... show more

  • 12 volt cordless 5-in 8 mm throw buffer/polisher.
Style: 2*Batteries Kit
Overall I feel it works pretty well. I have another battery-powered buffer/dual action polisher, and this one I feel has a better build quality and overall just functions better. The power button is on top, one press it turns on, one press it turns off. The speed control is on the side, so it's pretty easy to turn it up or down as you're using it. I did not find myself stopping having to look at the dial. It comes with two batteries, they are both two amp hour, and the charger is the cheaper style charger and it is a one amp hour charger. So the battery should take about 2 hours to charge. I used to apply some wax, I had recently buffed out my car so I didn't need to do that again. It was easy to control, it only weighs 2 lb 13 oz, so it's not very heavy, you can easily use it with just one hand which I found myself doing a lot. It does come with some bonnets which are kind of useless. The bonnet gets in the way of the backing plate and the body of the machine, even with the foam pad applied, it just get hung up in the machine. The foam pads that comes with don't seem to be the greatest, they're kind of on the firm side. I will prefer to use pads that I'm familiar with. But it does come with two flat 5-in pads and then two 5-in pads that got the bumps in it. It also comes with five pieces at 240 grit paper, and a fuzzy polishing pad, the best way I can describe it anyway. It will work on paint correction, I just don't recommend it to do the whole vehicle. You're going to have to stop and charge the batteries for one, and for heavy correction, it just doesn't spin fast enough. I have a corded 6-in buffer and this one here on high is equal to my corded buffer on about three or four. It spends plenty fast to put on wax, or to do small correction work. And the overall build quality seems all right, it has rubber over molding where you'd like it, the materials used feel decent, and there is a negative with the batteries. They are kind of a pain to get in and out. You have nothing to really grab a hold of when you're pulling on the battery after you push the tabs in, but I imagine the tabs will break in and it will get easier to take the battery in and out. ... show more
