The search protector works as intended. I would say it's somewhat hard to get items plugged into it, I've noticed some surge protectors are and others aren't. This one is in the middle. I thought this was perfect at first. The right length, look, etc. But twice now the end outlet (the farthest from the wall plug outlet) on the six outlet unit has stopped conducting electricity. One day 2 things that I plugged into the power strip were off! The phone and something else. I moved it a little, and they came back on!! They have been fine ever since, and I don't know if it's the power strip with a problem, or the plug in. I'm waiting to see it happen again, or not, so we can do more testing to see which is the problem! But the only outlet available has a microwave directly in front of it, and plugging it in and then unplugging it is a real pain.
