It supports without being uncomfortable. I have several broken vertebrae in my back and the back brace the doctor prescribed was so uncomfortable that I couldn't wear it. This one has helped with the pain and I can wear it most of the day. I ordered a large, but it has Velcro so I can make it tight enough.

Docking 1 ⭐ for 2 reasons: first the product listing's primary image suggests blue pinstriping when in fact it's entirely black which makes it harder to get it situated, and second using copper is wasteful and not therapeutic. That said, it helped me from day 1. I work from home and sit or stand at a workstation for my work day. Wearing this for in 2 to 3 hours a day, I have sharply reduced the amount of lumbar pain and also other knock-on ben, as I'm not contorting the rest of my body in response to my lumbar.
