Features

  • Advanced Laser TechnologyThe CK1-55 laser module uses the latest LD+FAC+C lens compression point technology with a fixed focus and a focal length of only 23 mm. Compared to other long-focal-length lasers, the short-focal-length laser offers stronger engraving and cutting capabilities.
  • 32-bit MotherboardThe motherboard uses a 32-bit dual-core MCU with faster processing speed and an engraving speed of up to 10,000 mm/min. The laser can engrave online and TF cards offline. Working area: 300 x 300 mm.
  • Software CompatibilityCK1-55 laser engraving machines are compatible with most engraving software. For example, free software: LaserGRBL (for Windows), paid software: Lightburn (for Windows, Mac), mobile app: MKSLaser (for Android and iOS systems).
  • Engraving and Cutting CapabilityThe CK1-55 laser can engrave wood, plastic, paper, leather, bamboo, sponge paper, aluminum oxide, stainless steel, chevron plates, acrylic, etc. The laser can cut up to 5 mm plywood, 3 mm acrylic plates, 3 mm cardboard, and 0.7 mm leather.
  • Dual ProtectionThe emergency stop button can quickly shut down the machine in an emergency to prevent unnecessary loss; the light-shielding eye protection design can effectively filter 95% of the laser light source. Dual safety devices protect your creation.

  • Fun to Use, But Expect to Learn as You Go
Size: 5.5W
This is my first laser engraver, so I was excited to get it assembled and give it a try. The instructions, however, were a bit of a challenge—small print, hard on the eyes, and the English translation was rough. Still, I managed to get it put together. The trickiest part was installing the rubber bands that drive the motor and laser head. Once assembled, though, the machine feels sturdy and well-built. To get started, I watched a few YouTube videos, which I highly recommend—they were really helpful in understanding both the machine and how to operate it. Since I use a Mac, I went with LightBurn instead of the free Windows software the manual suggests. Fortunately, there are plenty of tutorials out there for using LightBurn. As for the engraving itself—there’s definitely a learning curve. I didn’t realize at first that it really needs to be used in a well-ventilated area (or outdoors), because the laser does produce smoke, and yes, it will set off your smoke alarm—lesson learned. LoL So far, I’ve had success engraving on the cardboard sheets that came with it, as well as some scrap balsa wood I had lying around. Dialing in the right laser depth and speed is a bit of an art—this machine isn’t exactly plug-and-play. It’s definitely geared more toward hobbyists, even though the price is beginner-friendly. Overall, I’m happy with it and enjoying the process. I’m hoping to make some custom coasters for my friends once I get the hang of it. I also picked up a backing board at the recommendation of another reviewer that the machine sits on. This prevents the laser from burning through and damaging whatever it may be resting on. ... show more

  • Excellent entry level
Size: 5.5W
Was pretty straight forward for assembly and set up for use on my tablet with basic connection through wifi or the cable connection that's provided. Need to learn how to do some things on it like etching glass and stainless steel but otherwise it does pretty good work for the price with excellent detail so far. Seems well built and sturdy as well. ... show more

  • Great machine to learn on
Size: 5.5W
I’ve always wanted to try one of these. I have always been intimidated by the software and translating graphics, etc. I am still learning, but I am getting there. It took my husband over an hour to put the machine together and he had to find some videos that explained it better than the manual. I used the freeware that was mentioned in the manual and the product description. I was able to get a simple logo translated, but I had to find a video with a step by step walk through on the software. I am now learning about the different materials and how to get the settings right so the laser can engrave. The settings for wood are different than the settings for metal. There is a learning curve, but if you are really interested in this, it shouldn’t be a problem. For someone who wants to point and click with little effort on your part, this is not the machine for you. Wait another 10 years and there might be a point and click one that does all the work for you. For the rest who don’t mind learning something new, you should try this one. It's a good value for the money given how many choices you have. I’ll update if I have any issues. ... show more

  • Works well but there's a steep learning curve
Size: 5.5W
5 stars for the device 4 stars for ease of use of you're a beginner. UPDATE: Added 2 images I'm proud of (the ships).... after another 30 minutes of playing with the software. This machine is well made and works well. I have only etched wood with it so far, but that worked. It came packaged well, with all of the parts included and well labeled. It took about 90 minutes to assemble the device, so a good bit of time. But it was relatively straightforward. BUT it took 2 hours of watching Facebook videos to learn how to use the free software, which didn't come with good instructions. Downloading the software was easy, but it was tough to learn. This is the first device like this we have used so we are newbies. If you already know how to use software like this, it won't be as bad. But if you are looking for an easy entree into this technology, be ready for the learning curve. ... show more

  • My complaints might be user error.
Size: 5.5W
As someone totally new to Laser Cutting/Engraving - I think this machine is a bit more of a project than I was expecting. It also doesn't seem to cut or engrave very well. But it also might be user error. I don't know. I don't like it though.
