I saw this, and thought it was a really cool thing. I really wanted to like it, as it is something that could benefit me a lot. I do not do well in hot weather, as I sweat a lot. I am also bald, so being able to keep my head cool in the summer would have been wonderful. A few slight problems. First, it is too small. I can "barely" get it on my head, with it being at the largest opening of the strap in the back. I do have a large head, but it's not comically large. This hat is definitely not sized for a somewhat typical head in the US. I am only about 5'10", if that helps you understand the size of my head. With the air conditioner device in there, it has less ability to sit snugly on one's head. When I say barely get it on, I mean that I just basically put it on the top of my head, and hoped that it wouldn't just fall off. Second, the "cooling" feature. It does a nice airflow, but it did not stay cold for more than a few seconds, after cycling the air flow between the two "gears". For that brief period of time, it does get really cold, which was quite nice, but within 5 seconds, it went to ambient air temperature. Yes, air flow is a good thing, but it advertised as a cooling hat. Third, maybe it is just the unit I received, but it would not turn off. It has one button on it, long press to turn on/off, and short press to cycle between those two gears. Long press to turn on, no problem. Turned on. Tried to turn it off, and it just would wait until I took my finger off the button, and then go to the other speed. I held it down for 3 seconds, 5 seconds, 10 seconds, and even for a minute, all the same result, just switching speeds. It is USB charged, and it comes with a very short cable. As I said, I wanted to like this. I really did, I wanted to use this all summer, but, nope.

First, the good points: The fan in this hat works, and it is set up to alternate between extracting warm air and blowing in fresh air. Also, it does run for a couple of hours on a charge--long enough for a long walk. Finally, although it feels a bit heavy when you first put it on, you quickly get used to it, and it isn't uncomfortable to wear. Now the not-so-good points: It is incredibly dorky looking! I bought it to wear walking the dogs, but I don't want to wear this in public in my neighborhood! That means it will only be used for gardening or forest walks. If you wear glasses, wearing the hat could be uncomfortable. Because of the weight, it sometimes forced my glasses down onto my nose, so I hat to tip the hat back further than I normally do to prevent that from happening. The fan is noisier than I expected. I got used to it, but some people might find it bothersome. Finally, and this is the kicker, I am not sure that it is worth the cost for a hat that provides minimal cooling. For me, the jury is still out on this one. I have not yet worn it for a long walk on a hot day. I'll update this review after I do that.
