Description

The Silencio is a silent case that makes no compromises in thermal performance. Sound dampening material surrounds the system Build, rubber padding cushions all included fans, and a removable cover shields noise that escapes from the top panel. For Optimal noise reduction, The steel side panel features sound dampening material. For demanding systems, The top panel’s sound dampening cover can be removed for increased ventilation. Paired with the front panel’s ventilation, directionally taking in air through the mesh, silence can be accomplished without sacrifice. The subtle ventilation takes in air from three sides of the sound-dampened front door, with the mesh filter aimed toward the bottom for an efficient intake of air.

  • Very functional and without that gamer look
Style: ATX Mid-Tower
Used for an office PC build where silence is highly valued. Pro 1: It’s a solid and well built case that does reduce noise. Pro 2: Lots of options for expandability within its form factor. Pro 3: Easily accessible front fan filter. Pro 4: Not as generic and plain looking as the pics make it seem. Con 1: Heavy because it is well built. Con 2: Needs just a little bit more space between the door and the drive bays. I installed a hot swap cage into the 5.25” drive bay and the button touches the door. The hot swap cage has to be pushed back into the bay for the door to close. It’s not flush with the front panel. Pro Tip: Have good air flow with this case because the sound dampening reduces cooling ability. Would I buy it again? Yes. ... show more

  • My New Stealth Bomber Looks Great! Solid build quality and quiet. Just add some fans! My New Stealth Bomber Looks Great! Solid build quality and quiet. Just add some fans!
Style: ATX Mid-Tower
It's not the color of the photos, it's really a black case. But I like that and it looks very minimal and sleek. After seeing some mixed reviews for this case on Youtube I was worried the case ran very Hot, but so far it's been great. The 2 included fans are Very quiet and seem high quality. I added 2 more 120mm fans so I have a total of 3 intake on the front and 1 exhaust on the back. It's a little weird to install the upper 3rd fan in the front since there isn't 4 screw holes, but no issue with 2 screws and 2 zipties. With the door shut and solid top panel my GPU only hit 69 degrees and CPU hit 59 while playing demanding games. I'm sure it doesn't have the best airflow in the world, but it's way better than I expected. Also some of the reviews I saw said the hard drive cage inside the bottom PSU shroud could not be removed, but in mine I was able to take it out with just a couple screws. Maybe they updated the design after seeing complaints since removing it helps a ton with installing the PSU and managing the power cables. It's quieter than most cases probably, but don't expect miracle silence. The SSD mounts are a really nice setup too. Overall I like it and it's a good value since it comes with 2 nice fans that cost $20 each. ... show more

  • Big case, but kind of tight
Style: ATX Mid-Tower
I was originally debating between between this and the S400 (mATX) case. I'm glad I ended up choosing the larger case even though I only needed to mount an mATX. The 2 included 120mm fans are ultra quiet. The airflow is good. I'd rate access as okay to slightly cramped, and that's with a mATX board. I'd expect a full ATX board to be difficult to wire power runs or pins on the bottom of the board. There's mounts for a lot of drives. It has 4 3.5 mounts, another 5 2.5 mounts, plus a 5.25 external drive bay. 1 3.5 and 2 of the 2.5's are mounted to the back panel. 3 of the 2.5 mounts and 3 of the 3.5 mounts are in the airflow paths, while the back mounts aren't cooled. Detractors: PSU compartment: Mounting an extended length Active PFC power supply gets really cramped because of the 3.5 drive cage. It would be really nice if the cage was detachable, like in the S400 design. With this case, you really have to plan ahead. PSU definitely needs to be installed first, with its wires before you plan any other wiring. I had to uninstall and reinstall the wires that mounted to the bottom of the motherboard because I couldn't get the PSU into the under compartment with wires coming out the slot between top and bottom compartments. There's not enough room to add wires to the PSU without taking it out, so if I ever need to run another SATA or Molex power line, i'll have to uninstall the GPU, and all the lower wires from the MB just to get back into the PSU. Fans: the specs say you can mount 2 140mm fans into the front slots. It has mounting holes for them. 140mm fans would be pretty useless. The entry grill is two (and a half) 120mm holes in an otherwise solid metal plate. The extra 10mm of fan blades wouldn't be able to pull any extra air, meaning it would have to spin at the same rate as a 120mm to generate the same airflow. I'm glad I saw the case before ordering any additional fans. If you end up using the 3.5 drive cage, a second front 120mm fan would help drive airflow into the lower compartment (about 50% split between top and bottom). The top 120mm sends air to the top compartment. Without a second front fan, the airflow comes from whatever air the PSU is blowing out. So far I think the included 2 fans are probably sufficient, since I'm not overclocking. top mounted USB/memory card slots: I'm expecting these to be great places for dust to collect. I'm currently using the still in package magnetic top filter to cover them when not in use. However, the power and reset buttons on top do make a nice change from my old case. Another item to consider if you put your case in a cabinet or other confined area. Expansion slot covers (nitpick): The anchor slots are a bit larger than the covers themselves, which gives the slot covers room to wiggle so they don't sit flush against the back plate. ... show more

  • Very well thought out
Style: ATX Mid-Tower
I used this case to build a PC for somebody else and got jealous once I got my hands on it. The PSU mounting situation is unique but it works well and isolates the main chamber from the ugly wires once you route along the side and out the grommeted entry points. Fans are very quiet. The front door keeps a clean face if you plan on using the bays. Door closes tight and is robust. The frame of the case is stiff and there is no wobble or play. Fit a three fan GPU with maybe an inch to spare which is great. HDDs can mount in the lower bay to keep the chamber neat. Buy a modular PSU as you will not have the benefit of stuffing unused cables anywhere easily. ... show more

  • Very quiet case with nice access and fine finished edges. Very quiet case with nice access and fine finished edges.
Style: ATX Mid-Tower
I've had this case for over a year and it's been great. It's easy to build with plenty of access holes and tie downs inside. It has nice finished dull edges instead of the classic sharp die stamped edges. I used a full size ATX motherboard and 1000 watt power supply mounted in the bottom. The interior is roomy and open for great air flow. I wanted the sound dampening side panel instead of the clear cover which is very thick and quiet. I wanted a very quiet system as much as possible and this did the trick. I recommend this case, it's been a pleasure to use coming from a 20 year old tower server case. My only other upgrade was silent nokua large fan to replace the front fan which I could hear sometimes at higher speeds. ... show more

  • Awesome
Style: ATX Mid-Tower
I built a computer in another Cooler Master case (Q500L) but it was super noisy due to being designed for airflow in a compact case. Switched to this case and its like night and day. The sound reduction panels really worked. When I touched them I thought they cheaped out on the material. Its more substantial in my Antec 101 case, but this did the job perfectly. Great product and on sale its a deal. ... show more

  • Quiet, easy to work with - just what you'd expect from Cooler Master
Style: ATX Mid-Tower
Extremely quiet system (running an MSI 3060 Ti, and there's zero noise) Extremely easy to work with. Tons of options for both 2.5" and 3.5" drives. Plenty of options for cable management, with rubber grommets to pass cables through to the backplane. The only issue I found is the power supply area is a bit cramped when it's time to plug in all the cables. I removed the drive bays at the bottom of the case, as I didn't need them, and that made it much easier. It's also designed to work with liquid cooling solutions, so it's easy to upgrade later. Zero complaints, and definitely worth the price. ... show more

  • Poor design and documentation, but quiet once it's assembled
Style: ATX Mid-Tower
The documentation is a set of small, almost unreadable pictures, no words. (You can download it from the coolermaster.com site and see for yourself.) The customer support line is a recorded message saying "call back later". The interior layout requires the power cables to be routed from a bottom compartment (with PS and HDDs) to the top compartment (with motherboard, graphics card, etc.). The standard power cables for a modular PS (I was using a Seasonic) were about 4 inches too short to reach their destinations, so I had to buy extenders. The case has the power and reset buttons *on the top surface* of the case, rather than the front, which is a terrible choice. I expect to accidentally reset this computer on a regular basis as I reach over to plug in USB cables there. Building with this case took hours longer than my previous build with an Antec case (days longer, if you count waiting for the extenders to arrive). Once done, it is indeed quiet. But I don't think I'll ever use a Cooler Master case again. ... show more
