  • Superb tandem bicycle tire
Size: 700x28 Color: Black
My wife and have ridden about 9000 miles on a co-motion tandem. It came originally with Continental Gatorskin 700x28 tires, which were great and long lasting, but non folding. I have experimented with various tires over the years but settled on these Continental Grand Prix 4 seasons 700x28 folding tires as my favorite for about the last 4000 miles. They wear slowly, experience very few flats, fold fairly compact, are quiet and have decent traction when wet. We are a 300 lb tandem team, close to 50:50 weight distribution. I typically inflate front and rear to 100 psi, and change after 1000 miles or fewer when they have only modest wear. ... show more

  • Great tires!
Size: 700x28 Color: Black
Would have given 5-stars, but they don't seem as 'flat-resistant' as advertised. My old Vittoria Zaffiro-Pro's had fewer flats. But the 4-Season's roll way-faster than the Zaffiro's AND a pair of 25mm Rubino's that I got from a friend. I have the 28's and they are significantly skinnier than my old, worn-out 28mm Zaffiro's. I've read that they actually measure closer to 26mm, and I believe it! All-in-all, great tires! ... show more

  • Perfect winter/gravel tires. Nearly puncture proof.
Size: 700x28 Color: Black
Perfect winter tire. Absolutely great for gravel. Hundreds of miles on these tires on gravel and some of the worst paved roads in the South Central U.S. and not a single flat. They're more supple than Gatorskins and seem at least as tough. Experiment with air pressure to get the right feel. I weigh about 150 pounds. I run these 28 mm tires at 75 psi, and they are absolutely cushy on even the worst roads. And I have never gotten a pinch flat, even when hitting sharp concrete bridge decking and some really bad pot holes. I usually get flats when riding in the rain because so much trash gets washed onto the edge of the pavement, but I've ridden in the rain several times on these with no flats. And they stick to the pavement like glue, even in sharp curves. ... show more

  • Don't follow the instructions!!!
Size: 700x28 Color: Black
Following way too much research to get new bicycle tires, I purchased a set of these. I guess the "all season" part is the thin, weird tread on the edges of the tires. According to the instruction sheet, the treads have an orientation for mounting, but it doesn't say what it is, as in "mount the tires with the tread direction as shown on the tire." Ain't no stinkin' direction shown on the tire. Not one to just throw something on my bike, I sent a message to Continental Tire. A few months later, I received a message from Germany, advising me to mount the tire as shown in their website picture, with an added note about the direction of rotation. Bottom line: Subtract the "all season" thin grid marks and you have what is basically a "slick" tire. ... show more

  • Run Great on my Cyclocross
Size: 700x28 Color: Black
So I bought a Cyclocross bike so I could ride into work. I did this because its 10 miles in one direction and one of my options was to ride on a light gravel trail which I did not think a standard road bike would be able to handle. That said, it wasn't comfortable to ride on the fat knobby tires on the road which was what I ride on the majority of the time. So I decided that I wanted to get the best, fattest road tire I could find so that I would be comfortable on the road but still be able to take it on the trail when I wanted to. These tires are the ones that seem to fit the bill. They are fast on the road and able to take the trail when I go on it. The difference in overall comfort has been fantastic and I love the fact that I'm able to keep up with all my friends on their road bikes when we go for weekend rides. ... show more

  • Puncture resistant?? I dont think so...
Size: 700x28 Color: Black
Had these for about six weeks and rode them for 150-200 miles before running over something so small that I didn't even know it until the tire split and went flat in less than 3 seconds. After trying to repair the flat with a new inner tube, it popped again before I could even get on the saddle. The tire is basically garbage at this point. I really had high hopes for these tires after reading all the positive reviews. I'm going to call continental customer service about a warranty and will write an update with their response... ... show more

  • Gator Skins, yes, these, NO
Size: 700x28 Color: Black
I submit reviews on about 50% of the things I buy on Amazon, mostly to rave about items I think are worth raving about. That's not the case with this tire. After only a couple hundred miles on it, I noticed some ominous gashes in the tread. It wasn't long after that I got a flat. When I found and removed the culprit -- a tiny shard of glass smaller than a grain of rice -- I couldn't help thinking this is the wimpiest road hazard to ever give me a flat. To make matters worse, I bought two of these tires and even though I don't trust it enough to install it, I'm stuck with it since the purchase date was back in September, 2014. ... show more

  • Great tires
Size: 700x28 Color: Black
Bought these to replace the stock Bontrager race lite tires (aka: lead weights) on my Trek 520. They roll beautifully and are very supple; you can feel the pavement underneath you. I've always run Conti's GP's on my bikes but I really like these tires. I also weighed them when I got them and they were around 270 grams a piece, so they are light too. I won't run any other tire but I do run them a little under max pressure because I feel they ride better and I randonneur so the comfort over the long haul is important to me. ... show more
