This little motor works great and was a real bargain
WOW... This little motor works great and was a real bargain. The motor was a direct fit to my Consew motor bolts, but I had to drill holes for the on/off switch. I had to manufacture a bracket to secure the needle position sensor. But once I finally got it mounted the sensor works great. It has all the power anyone doing upholstery will need and I can control the speed with the foot peddle to a single stitch at a time. It arrived in good shape in the original box from China. The instructions are not very clear and there were no instructions for mounting the needle sensor. The motor is very quiet, you can't hear it at all when your not sewing. All said and done I am very pleased with this motor.

The 40+ year old clutch motor on our industrial Bernina 950 burned up. My tailor-son recommended a servo motor. My husband needed to watch Jasonofalltrades “Dump the clutch motor” video a couple times but he had no trouble installing this motor. These first two months of use have been a dream. I love that it is so quiet. The instructions included were not significant so Jason’s video is key to the install.

Great upgrade from a clutch motor
This is the best investment you can do if youre running a clutch motor. I bought the 50mm pulley and can slow my stitching to about 2 stitches a second, giving me full control of my stitching. the controller is on the front of my machine, allowing easy access to change speed, the motor is super lightweight, it runs quieter, and doesnt run when you arent sewing. Great Great device.

Poor instructions
This motor is pretty intuitive to replace if you have any mechanical skills and very basic tools. It’s pretty much a bolt on replacement, with some alignment finesse needed. The pedal connecting rod provided is way too short. I ended up buying some rod and rod ends to fabricate a longer one. Unless your table is built for a toddler, you’ll want to build or order one. My table is pretty much standard and required about 22” in length to connect the pedal to the motor actuator lever. I was disappointed with the motor controller instructions, which were sparse at best. There are several settings that aren’t explained at all. I played with them and my machine wouldn’t stop untill i hit the power switch. That said, there is enough information to help you adjust the max speed, direction of rotation, and needle position. I just wish they would explain the other settings because I suspect there is some great functionality that I’m missing out on. All things considered, I’m happy with the purchase for the price. Great value if it has a significant longevity.

Should have known about this years ago.
Perfect tool!!! It gives the user total control of the speed of the machine. Easy to install, ten minutes. The needle position sensor makes life behind the machine tons more efficient! Perfect for beginners as well as seasoned life long sewers. It is so quiet that you absolutely can not hear it run. A must have for all commercial sewing! I've installed this product on all of my machines, Addler, consew, juki and singer.

Killer setup for the price
The installation was pretty straightforward. It came with extra flat washers to space appropriately for belt alignment. The control coming from a clutch motor is night-and-day different! I’m running a Mercury M-337 (Consew 205RB clone) and while I don’t have a lot of time on it yet, I just ran 5 test panels (V138 bonded poly) of Spralding 29oz marine vinyl without even getting into the treadle. That was on the included 75mm pulley but I’ll probably odrer the 45mm and ramp up my max RPM. All in all, the control is way better than a clutch motor and it looks like it’ll be able to handle whatever I can deal it’s way as far as marine vinyl goes. Keep in mind- the receptacle on the back of the controller module is only a two-prong female. I went ahead and mounted a galvanized 4-plex box to the underside of the table so I could employ external work lighting. Instructions suck so you may need to become a thinking person, but there are a few thorough youtube videos. Other than that- it’s a great setup so far and definitely worth the asking price.

So far so good!
I use my machine for a few hours each week and this machine has held up well. It's amazingly quiet compared to the clutch motor it replaced. I was able to get this to run slow enough to sew single stitches.

Some quality issues
Theres a wobble in the pully that translates thru my whole table and machine at higher speeds. Very annoying. The installation instructions are largely useless. The pully back cover is installed crooked and blocking the insertion of the main hanger bolt. With it being crooked, and the front cover installed, the belt runs on the cover. Aside from those major issues that, had I known about before I installed, i would have returned the motor. That said, now that its installed and I figured out the needle position sensor for up and down. I love it. The control is great. If it didn't wobble so bad I could look past all the other issues.
