So,I have a Black Malinois girl. She distroyed her last crate in under 3 months. Given it was a cheap wired one. Then I came across this one. The cost made me wait a while to get it. But then it arrived. Sturdy.And it locks from the outside w a latch that can be flipped so basically its a double latch. It can also be opened from the top with another latch lock.( I really like that). We had this now for a while and no signs of damage. My girl is smart as Malinois are and watches closely how I lock. No change as the bars aren't wide enough apart to stick her paw out. The buttom has also a opening where you can put food into the crate and not open the door. I have a big blanket in it for comfort. I wouldnt use this crate for small dogs as their feet WILL fall thru and injure them but its the best for a larger pawed dog. I wouldn't suggest anything larger than a Mal ,mine's head almost touches the top.

So overall this is a great kennel for a mischievous dog. I have a Belgian Malinois and she’s an escape artist. The top is my only issue due to the lock easily being vibrated open as it’s only a slide lock. So I had to put heavy duty zip ties around the top so she couldn’t pop it open. Sucks not being able to reach in from the top, but the rest of the cage is fast and easy to set up. I did it alone with no help in under 10 minutes. Heavy duty metal, locks are weak and need to be either reinforced or redesigned.

The kennel is very sturdy, and I feel confident that this will safely contain my precocious German shepherd puppy. However the kennel is a rather noisy. His routine shifting around and settling in the kennel makes quite a racket. It’s kind of disturbing when you have your dog kenneled in your bedroom and he’s making all that noise. Another thing I’m not fond of is the fact that most of the kennels of this type do not have solid bottoms. I bought this one solely because it was the only one that didn’t have wire grates at the bottom. This one has Square bars instead. To me both of these seem uncomfortable, but with it being bars instead of a grate was the lesser of 2 problems. Thankfully my husband is an amateur woodworker. He happened to have some plywood in his lumber stash that fits the bottom of this kennel almost perfectly. He sealed it and put it on the bottom of the kennel. I’m hoping that my dog finds this more comfortable and slightly warmer in the winter months.

I foster animals for a local rescue and had a 30 lb feral dog the was able to escape anything I tried to put her in. I ordered this and poof, no more escaping. It was simple to put together and because of the design it is fairly easy to disassemble and move. It is a bit heavy for me to take up and down steps but I just had to call in reinforcements and there was no problem at all. I love how the top lifts up to gain access because I can clean out and the crate easier and also catch a pet of her to help get her use to people. Plenty big enough for a bed on one side and pee pads on the other. I use the extra large ones from Chewy and they fit perfectly. It was every easy to clean. I just take out the two pans on the bottom to clean up anything that falls through and wipe ip anything inside that needs cleaned up. And when it needs mote than that I take it outside and hose it down with the power washer. It has a small door at the bottom of the larger door that you can use to put food and water in so your escape artist can't get out. It has helped so much, well worth the expense.

Easy to assemble, not terribly dirty but did wipe down with a microfiber cloth, only con I have about this (yes, I still gave it 5 stars) wish it had a separate door on the short side. Have a huge dog, but still will have to think exactly where I can place this. Dimensions are true so this is a ginormous crate. Still need 2 more crates and these will be my go too

Our German Shepherd pup was able to break out of our heavy wire crates and I was afraid she was going to hurt herself trying one of these times. I went for this crate and it was a good choice. It's really sturdy and strong and it looks nice too. If you plan to put a decent pad in it (3 or 4 inches thick), be aware that it reduces the height of the crate inside. Our pups ears already stand up but I've heard that a low crate might inhibits a dog's ears from standing up. If you're worried about that, get the person of this crate that has the peaked roof instead of the flat one.

The first time I put my Belgian Malinois In it…. She broke free! Second time I put her in it (with additional 14 zip ties) She managed to bite / dent and bend the door to where she was almost able to escape again !! Not worth the $$$$$
