Been using this for occasional voiceover work and every person I collaborate with are in disbelief that this is a budget condenser. I run it through a behringer uphoria and get noise free and crystal clear results. I think the pop filter is a bit useless but getting a better one is a cheap investment all things considered. This is a great kit to start off with without question. Probably not something to go with if your a working professional but its good enough to help you get there. ... show more

    • Needs phantom power, great beginner mic.

This is the first mic I have ever bought, but I have friends who stream and they have all told me this mic sounds just fine for it's price, my voice is clear and crisp which is more than I could say while I was using gaming headset microphones which just seem to get worse the newer model you get paradoxically. Since this is in the beginner category it would be nice if it mentioned more prominently the fact that this mic requires a phantom power hook in and a connection from that to your computer. It doesn't come with either of these so if you don't have either then you won't be able to supply the power it requires or hook it up to your pc, I imagine this is something anyone with even a little experience would have known, but as a newbie to the scene I thought I had what I needed in this kit alone. The mic clamp also failed after around a month of use, but I believe this is due to me constantly knocking my Chai into it and fiddling around trying to find the best spot to put the mic where I could still see all my screens and my keyboard and mouse. So just be aware, you have to know where you want this, tighten it there, and if you want to move it make sure you loosen it first and not smack it around or it will break. I bought a different mic arm that fit my set up more and the mic itself and it's cables all still work perfectly. At one point I had to completely dismantle the shock mount to get the mic out because I tightened the mic into the mount WAY too tight which I am again sure no one with experience would do and it still works fine and was easy to reassemble and put all the elastics back on. This mic only hears your voice on one side of the mic, it's not 360, so it's perfect for being at a computer because it won't pick up you typing on your keyboard and won't pick up your voice bouncing off your monitor and desk which helps a ton with having a clear voice. Great mic, dealt with a lot of issues using usb mics. Haven't found a single issue with this xlr mic, so after 6 months I'm reviewing lol. Sound quality is amazing, mic is very sensitive. Easy setup with good wire management features. Phone holder is surprisingly sturdy (had a lot of reservations about this feature pleasantly suprised). I had to get all the gear when I started recording again. This was one of my 1st purchases - thinking I'll upgrade later. I did eventually upgrade, but I definitely kept this baby around & still use it quite often. Works pretty darn good. Some people 'bagged' on it when I was checking out reviews, but I'm happy I picked it up. Don't be fooled by the price - the performace far surpasses that IMO. ... show more
