This is a nice curling iron and does a great job on my thick coarse hair. It heats up quickly and has a turbo function which gets it a bit hotter if needed. I like the choice of 30 heating choices. The swivel cord keeps the cord from tangling. This also had a 60 minute auto shut off function. It has a protective cover if you need to put it away before it is totally cooled off. Great value.

This iron heats up quick especially with the turbo button. I have fine hair but a lot of it and usually need to adjust the heat settings to the middle. The curling iron reached a perfect temperature and I was only at about 10, I can imagine that this would work on hard to curl hair if turned up to the max. I followed the settings suggestions on the back of the package. I did not need to hold the iron to my hair for very long, unlike with my old curling iron. My curls came out perfect and are holding so well.

I recently cut my hair and my 1 inch was a little too big so I sized down to this guy and it’d perfect for my typical beach wave look! It’s a smidge smaller than my 1 inch so I included a side by side of the 2. My only concern is it’s very hot even on the lower temps and it’s definitely not made from the best material so make sure you use a heat protectant! But you can’t beat it for the price!

The good: I liked the design of this. You can't accidentally turn this up to full heat or down to minimum heat without trying. It wasn't too heavy and the cord rotated nicely, so it wasn't getting in the way. The colors were also very nice and aesthetically pleasing, and the price was very appealing. I can say that the few curls I was able to get looked good. The underside of my hair is hard to curl, and this iron performed about as well as other curling irons. The bad: I was able to curl about 5 small sections on high heat before this broke. As I set it down it let out a spark and died. I unplugged it and let it cool. I tried plugging it in later on in a safe area, and it wouldn't turn on at all. I did check and make sure it wasn't the outlet. I'm not sure if this is a long standing issue, or just a single unit with wonky wiring. Because I needed it for an event I had to go out and buy a different curling iron, so I won't be testing out a replacement.

I have short thin hair and I actually love this curling iron... EXCEPT: I have areas of my short hair that are thicker because they are not as layered as different parts of my hair which are layered and thinner and this curling iron will not ever ever ever ever ever ever grab my thinner hair even when I push the clamp shut with my thumb against the barrel it will not Not NOT, hold my HAIR. I am keeping it but I'm probably going to have to find a different curling iron that will actually grab all types of hair🤬

What I like about this curling iron: it's light weight, easy to turn on and off, and heats up fast. Sadly, because of the way the iron buttons are placed, your fingers may sometimes unintentionally turn the temperature dial. This adjusts the temperature even when you don't mean to. For me, this is just an annoying problem; it hasn't caused any problems with my hair. However, if you were trying to use it on a low heat to protect thin delicate hair and you kept accidentally turning it up to high heat, I could see where it might burn or damage your hair.

When my third Hot Tools curling iron died, I decided to try another brand. This one is neat looking but there are several points where it does not come up to my expectations. First I was used to 450 degree heat from my previous irons and this one only reaches 400 max. My very fine hair is hard to curl so I need the extra heat to create a curl that is tight enough and that actually lasts the day. Additionally it does not hold onto the hair while trying to curl it. The hair keeps slipping out of the clamp. The design could also use adjustment. Where the on/off switch is placed, the power is accidentally turned off while holding the iron to curl the hair. I like the fact that the barrel does not allow residue hair spray to adhere to it like the gold Hot Tools product does. That residue can be very difficult and a nuisance to clean on a regular basis. All in all the Conair is an OK product but it leaves some negative issues for me. I'm going to pack mine away and leave it for emergency use. I wish i could leave it for travel but it is not dual voltage so that is not an option.
