Only needed the harness after melting my original with a new engine due to bad ground. Just matched to my old harness and everything went perfect. Ended up using everything in the kit so I didn’t have to cut and splice wires. Everything matched up perfectly and go kart started first turn of the switch. Harness is for a 4 wheeler so expect it to be short. Worked for my application.

I’m not sure why this has bad reviews? Let me start off by saying, thank you. I bought a gy6 project scooter that had a custom frame on it so knowing exactly what model it was before it was modified was nearly impossible. Well, the previous owner royal screwed up the engine harness that was on the bike. Could only kick start it. So I bought this harness (yes I had to cut and modify MY wiring due to having a stretched frame) And redid everything from scratch. All new clean grounds. Everything. I got that bike started and it sounded WAY better than before! Bonus being this kit includes an 8 coil stator where as the one on the bike was a 6!

Absolute trash. ATV ran before the new harness and stator. After install, nothing. Tried arranging pins but nothing. Don't waste your money.

This is good wiring harness to get started with but you will probably will need to make a couple modifications to get it too work. I used for 150cc gy6 chinese quad. Wiring harness has all the plugs and connectors you need. Just some wires might be in wrong spots. When i first installed harness I had no spark and electric started didn't work.After a little trouble shooting I figured out how to get spark. The 6 pin cdi that comes with harness has 2 spots for ground on 4 pin Plug side but harnesses 4 only has 3 wires going into 4 pin side.To get spark you must connect a wire from empty stop on cdi to green connector on back of coil. Next to get electric start button to work you must switch wire on 6 pin plug for handlebar control switch. Harness has 2 12v hot wires going into handlebar switch a yellow and black. The black wire on harness side needs to be switched so it plugs into green/red wire on control switch plug. That's only modifications I needed to get wiring harness to work perfectly.

honestly I only used the 6pin cdi box so far but it works great. as far as i can feel everything appears to be standard quality and that's ok. you wouldn't believe how many of these sets come with cheap garbage that falls apart right after you get it... also, I like having some extra parts around just in case.

Some of the connectors are not in the spot indicated in the picture. Will not work on Honda Ruckus or Maddog ruckus/chuckus set up. Not long enough and many connectors are on the wrong end. I would assume this harness works best with go cart setup and shorter scooters. I bought this for spare parts and replacement connectors. Terminals are not very secure in connectors but will do the job.
