I'm using the Pyle PDA612BU with my home's background music system. There's passive ceiling speakers in every room and this little amp can run them all. I prefer low volume levels, but there is ample power to crank it up. The remote is IR (not RF) based. My unit is in a cabinet with a clear glass door at the far end of 30 foot long room. The handheld remote works reliably as long as I aim directly at it. Bluetooth range is very good. The unit is at the center of my home on the first floor and connectivity is possible from any room, even the second floor. I've experienced some disconnections at far locations, but reconnection is automatic when I get back in range. My main complaint is that it does not recall the mode that was previously used when it is turned on. At power-on it always defaults to the file (SD card) mode. But because I use smart (home automation) AC switches I need it to power-up to the FM mode with my favorite radio station. Big disappointment it cannot do that. I deducted a star because of this. Pros: Affordable, small size, good IR remote and Bluetooth range. Cons: Always defaults to file mode at power-up (does not save operating mode when turned off). ... show more

Use this on construction job site. Bought decent speakers for cheap at a thrift store, use ipod or radio and life is good. Gets plenty loud and if someone steals it I'm not out a fortune. This device does everything I need. I have connected a CD player and an MP3 player to it. The Bluetooth works well, too. My only complaint is that the unit's controls are not intuitive. My husband works with commercial technology, and says the build quality of this is good and does not feel cheap. We were looking for something small and Bluetooth-enabled to use in our bedroom upstairs and this has worked well. It's definitely small. It connected easily during set-up, and never loses a signal. The range is good, as we also tried putting it in the guest bedrooms. The menus on the LED screen are easy to navigate, even for our toddler who has learned to utilize this without our assistance. Obviously, more wattage per channel would have been preferable, but for the size and price, this does what it's supposed to do, and well. Would not recommend for a big home theater, but would recommend for set-ups in other spaces, even for a small office. ... show more
