  • With modifications, it can work with a full suspension bike
I was looking for a rear rack for my full suspension eBike. There are two that I found, one from Thule and another one with a similar design, but they used nylon straps to mount to the bike, which makes me a bit suspicious how sturdy it can be. I saw this rack and because it has a total of six fully adjustable legs to mount to the bike, I decided to give it a shot, knowing I will likely have to modify it. I did have to used a grinder with a carbon blade to cut the slots for the seat post mount off and cut off about an inch on the front 4 legs. Now it works like a charm and it's VERY strong and sturdy. If you are handy and have the tools, you can mod this to work with a full suspension bike. ... show more

  • Extra added cargo carrier.
I like how stable it is with three struts on either side of the wheel for stability. I will be using it to carry a trunk bag for my lunch at work along with other incidental supplies I may need to fix my bike in transit should the need arise.

  • Great once I figured it out
This was tricky for me to figure out how to install- it took over an hour for me to get it set up. But once it’s installed, it’s really sturdy. I’m using it for groceries and that kind of stuff, and it’s SUPER strong to hold any kinds of bags I want to strap down.

  • Great bike rack but you may need to get extra hardware to make it work.
The media could not be loaded. So, let me preface this review with the fact that most any after market accessory that you want to attach to your bike often requires you to get creative. This is a problem because the type, size, structure, nut holes etc on each bike and even among the models within a single manufacturer are quite often wildly varying. Others have covered the awesomeness of this rack and so I am not going to talk about these. Rather, this review is intended to help others understand that this is not a 100% take it and attach it. You may have to get creative. So, the rack is extremely versatile. There are three rods on each side to attach the rack to the bike rear fork. What I did not initially realize was that the three rods are of different lengths (duh!) since the last one has to traverse significantly further than the one closer to the seat. Additionally, they are in two parts and telescope so you can adjust the length. Also, the rack portion that sits on top of the tube that connects to the seat post has two nuts that you can loosen with the supplied allen wrench and slide it back so that part of your rack is not sitting under the seat. All of these are VERY GOOD things. Now for the BAD part. I have an old bike from when quality bikes used to be made of lightweight steel tubes as well - Now they are mostly aluminum. The rear fork tube on which the bike clamps are supposed to sit is really thin and the connector on this rack is too loose on it because its minimum clamp diameter is too wide for my fork. This problem can be easily resolved by putting multiple rubber pieces between the connector and the fork. However, the manufacturer has supplied exactly 2 rubber pieces per clamp. So, on my bike, it does not work (see attached picture). I even tried 4 pieces on a single clamp and it is still too loose. Again, this is not a shortcoming of the rack but rather simply of not having enough rubber pieces. I am currently in the process of hunting down my old bike tubes so I can chop them up to use them as pads to fix this issue. The manufacturer might as well just put multiple extra rubber pieces to accommodate thinner forks. The other issue is that the rack has very long screws for my thin fork. Almost 3/4" of the screw will either be facing the spokes (shudder) or if I turn the screws around, towards my leg and I WILL invariably end up scraping my legs on it. The manufacturer could simply have solved this problem by supplying 2-3 different length of the screws, but they didn't. So: Quality and construction: 5/5 Usability: 5/5 Ease of installation 3/5 - because I need to hunt down extra parts, not because there are too many nuts. I love the fact that this is adjustable but having to find extra parts, including going to the hardware store is just annoying. Overall 4/5 because I took one point out for the installation issue. ... show more

  • Made as a tank
I've been needing a rear rack for a while now and decided to use this one for my personal bicycle I've managed to use for a while now. Installation was easy and very clear, making it stay intact perfectly. With it's lightweight construction, I was concerned it wasn't going to be a good candidate for holding a child on the back or rear saddle bags with full weight but it had surprisingly surpassed my expectations, making it extremely sturdy. I would definitely want to have another one for another bicycle I'm working on for a fleet to work. 5 out of 5. ... show more

  • Good product, but installation is a bit of a hassel
My son's bike needed a new rack in the back of his bike as the old one was only attached by two small screws plus under the seat attachment. The old rack was good to attach basket with, but definitely does not feel safe to hold too much weight. When I saw this rack with it's rating of holding up to 265 lbs, I was intrigued and decided to give it a try. Pros: 1. Sturdiness. Once it was setup, I fully believe the 265 lbs weight limit. That thing was sturdy!!! I am at 180 lbs, so I decided to sit on it just to see how it handles my weight. The tires went a bit flat, but the entire hardware of the rack didn't even budget. Talk about quality material. 2. Paint protective rubber tabs. The rack attachments that touches the bike itself, there are rubber pads for you to put so that it doesn't scratch the paint off the bike. 3. Slider seat. The seat slides back and forth so that it can be adjusted to whatever kind of bike setup you have. 4. Design. The design is such that it can be adapted to a wide range of bike size and shape. Cons: 1. Setup. The setup took about an hour to attach the rack to the bike. So. Many. Screws. I understand that this gives the max flexibility to attach to different types of bikes, but may be think through some design improvements to achieve same flexibility, but with more user friendly setup. 2. Instruction. The instruction manual wasn't really too helpful. But the overall setup wasn't too complicated. Once you get organized, figure out what all the parts do, and after you setup one to two supports legs, you'll start figuring out the best way to get things attached. 3. The rubber tabs. While they are very helpful to protect bike paint, it was a bit of a struggle to get them into the right place and hold them in place. An improvement may be to pre-attach the rubber to the holder to make it more user friendly. 4. The reflector, once the seat is move back, it's hidden a bit under the rack seat. Making it a bit less visible. This could be a safety issue. But I installed led front light and back light, so it's not an issue for me. 5. Reduction of screws. There's so many screws to tighten with an allen wrench. It may have contributed to sturdiness and flexibility, but it does make the installation time that much longer. Overall, after tinkering with it, and finally got it installed, I am very pleased with the product. I believe it'll last a very long time and can handle whatever you want to put on it. I would highly recommend this product, but be sure to allocate a bit of time for the installation process. ... show more
