The Journey Comfort Grand Auditorium JCA882C blends luxury, comfort, and tone. Crafted with torrefied solid Acacia Koa top and back, it delivers rich, warm sound with stunning resonance. Its ergonomic wedge body and arm bevel ensure exceptional playing comfort. The Journey Comfort Amber Burst Dread JCD422B marries bold tone with ergonomic design. Built with a torrefied solid Sitka spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, it delivers deep lows and crisp highs. The wedge-shaped body and arm bevel make it comfortable to play for hours. Premium touches include ebony fretboard/bridge, bone nut/saddle, 1:22 gold tuners, and a German passive piezo pickup with onboard volume control. What does "Comfort Series" mean? The Comfort Series guitars reshape large styles like Grand Auditorium and Dreadnought with an armrest bevel and wedge body—thinner on top for comfort, thicker below for full tone and projection. Won’t a smaller body mean smaller sound? Not at all. The wedge shape keeps a full lower chamber for rich tone and volume while the top feels slimmer, giving players comfort without sacrificing sound power or resonance. What is Torrefied Wood? Torrefied wood is heat-treated to mimic natural aging, enhancing tone, resonance, and stability. It gives new guitars the rich, open sound of a well-aged, vintage instrument from day one.

  • Comfortable fit for smaller folks, rich sound, great value
Color: Acacia Koa
I'm a small woman with small hands and got back into guitar via playing mini size guitars. I'd been in and out of playing for years, but always found it really hard on my back to get good practice in. After finally getting good enough to care about the sound of my guitars, I starting longing for the deep, rich sound of a dreadnaught. My husband has a $3k Australian Maton that sounded incredible but gives me aches if I play for more than 20 minutes. After doing tons of research, watching review videos, and trying some different models in store (including Taylors and Martins), I decided to order the Journey Comfort Koa Grand Auditorium. I figured I'd pay the return shipping if it really wasn't for me, but it was worth trying. I've had it for 3 months and I love it! I can play for hours comfortably and I it sounds rich. I think it's warming up more the more I play it as well. I even went back to my local music store and played a bunch of comparable or higher priced guitars and still preferred my Journey. I knocked one star for fit and finish (there's some slightly visible glue in a few places and the sticker with the model number is misprinted) and for the passive pickup. It sounds just fine, but a little tone shaping would be nice. For the price, I think it's an amazing value: premium tonewood, ergonomic features, and all solid back and sides. When I ordered mine, it came with a hard case. I believe they now come with gig bags instead, which is a bit of a bummer, but I get it. ... show more
