As I discovered, there are multiple benefits to the cordless jump rope (or short ball, as it’s called in the product manual). Particularly if you have an injury, as I do, it allows you to jump without the rope slapping your legs and potentially tripping you. It also lets you have a higher impact work out and do more jumps in less time than the traditional rope. And you can jump indoors — no noise, no scratching the floor or hitting a low ceiling. It’s ideal for beginners, and if you’re more advanced, it allows you to focus on your arm/hand technique, timing, and balance. It would be nice if the equipment included weights, but you can add your own for a different feel. However, the app is glitchy, took a few tries to set up, and doesn’t seem to include some basic capabilities (for instance, there doesn’t seem to be a way to delete users who’ve been added to the app). Luckily the app isn’t required to use the jump rope, which itself has the ability to temporarily store data. For your workout you are given the option of 3 jumping modes, 4 counting modes, and 4 timing modes. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I appreciate being able to digitally record and analyze my results, track my progress, and see how I improve over time. It’s great to mix it up and have a variety of different cardio workouts to tap into. This is a nice standard jumprope that comes with unique options. It has a counter and timer so you can count your jumps or count down from one min. You can't adjust it for more/less than a minute though. The app is pretty basic and doesn't have many functions, but the jumprope still works perfectly without it. You can use just the handles with swinging balls attached so you don't have to actually jump over the rope. Or you can use it like a normal jumprope. The rope is adjustable which I like since my boyfriend and I can both use it. It's pretty light and isn't weighted, but I'm able to move it pretty fast and do double and triple jumps. ... show more

I currently live in a house with low ceilings so I was not able to jump rope inside. With this smart jump rope I can use it with out the rope and jump in the house. I liked that this jump rope had an app to track your jumping and activity with it. I found that I had to really play with it/read the instructions to set the jump rope up because at first it would not come up as an option on the list of products on the app. The app is very minimal and could use a major upgrade, but I still appreciated having it as an option. The jump rope itself (I only used with short balls) is kinda flimsy and it would be better with more weight and bulk to it but at the same time, it’s a lot smaller and takes up less room storing for that reason alone. ... show more
