This thing is a beast - at about 20 lbs it's built to last. The positive engagement of the winch ratcheting system is reassuring that it won't slip. The included cable grip is a nice addition as that can come in handy when pulling fence or trying to repair/tighten an existing line/cable. The springs on the hooks are responsive. The handle is quite long, giving a lot of leverage and is comfortable in the hand. With 10 ft of cable it gives a decent amount of pulling options without having to immediately start attaching to other chains or straps. You might be able to do it with just the cable, which is a bonus.

The winch pulley is very sturdy and durable, with a solid feel and excellent performance. It appears to be made of high-quality metal and can lift 6,600 pounds (about 3 tons). This small manual winch is quite good. I used it to clear several tree stumps in my yard, and it was very easy to use, saving me a lot of labor costs. It's excellent value for money, very useful, has few drawbacks, and is very simple to operate.
