I let the come along all the way out and was ratcheting the cable back in , it went about 1 foot and the ratchet stop ratcheting. I had to bend one of the ratcheting tabs straight that was crooked. I also apply lubricant and now it works fine .

You may not notice (I didn't at first!) but using that pulley on this design both DOUBLES your pulling power and also HALVES the distance you can stretch. I find this trade-off worth it though, as obviously these things aren't meant to be a winch but strategic "helpers" in certain situations. YES, when I'm not using it in my shop, it's going to stay in the back of my 4Runner as an emergency "get me out of sticky situations" or help move that fallen log that's blocking the road ;) 10/10 recommend. As with all come-alongs, wear gloves and remember there are some pretty serious finger-pinching opportunities available. ;-)

I’ve got these stubborn bushes that I’ve cut down more times than I can count, and they just keep coming back. At this point, the only real option was to yank the whole thing out, roots and all. This winch is on the smaller side, but it did the trick for what I needed. It’s definitely more of a budget option, and while I wouldn’t count on it for serious heavy-duty work, it’s a good tool to have around for those random, once-in-a-while jobs. For the price, I’m happy with it.

This is a multi-use tool everyone should have. It comes in handy for a variety of uses. I have used this tool for getting vehicles unstuck, for pulling tree stumps from the ground and straightening fence posts. There are so many other uses. This tool is well built, strong and easy to carry as well as operate. The hooks have clamps to keep the chains or other secure points in place

For an inexpensive come along this is usable. I would not trust it to hold a 2 ton load but I am using it on things that weigh just a few hundred pounds and for that it is very helpful. I did notice that there is a lot of looseness and play in all of the hardware and I don't think the hardware has any hardness markings on it. But for light duty use under a few hundred pounds of force it should be fine. The cable looks fine for the 2 ton rating, but not the bolts that hold things together. Just my opinion based on my prior experience with a 2 ton come along from years ago that cost 5 times more than this one.
