These gloves are PERFECT for what I needed: dog walking and hiking in chilly, wet weather -- mid 40s to mid 50s. They are light weight, breathable, and fit easily into a pocket halfway into the hike when I start shedding layers. I just bought another pair so that I'll always have a set ready! I know these are going to be worn daily during fall and winter. The non-slip patch on the palm is nice too. I predict being able to drive with gloves on, something I usually can't do as my hands slide all over and/or are too stiff/heavy for me to safely grasp the steering wheel. It is an art to dress for fall and winter adventures in the rain. Layers are key, but finding layers that aren't bulky and heavy -- and are also water repellant -- is also key so that you don't end up carrying heavy, soggy items. I was surprised by the negative reviews that complained that the gloves don't keep their hands warm in freezing and below freezing temps; they are pretty obviously not designed for extreme weather. I'm going to purchase some thin liners to wear under these gloves when the temps here in Portland, Oregon dip below mid-40s, and on those freezing snow days these may work nicely under down mittens. My only complaint is that the clasp is ridiculously difficult to open. In the elements, I don't think it would be do-able. But the clasp is not something I needed anyway, so this is definitely not a deal breaker for me. Love, love, love these gloves!

I finally found soft and warm gloves that are not too bulky. The fingers were not too long for me as some complained about. I wore these this morning while walking my dog and it was 34 degrees out. My hands stayed nice and toasty and it was easy holding the leash with them on. I hope they keep making these.
