It had a little problem understanding the instruction pictures, but once I pieced that together, was very easy and simple to assemble. I recently used the Columbia Dome Tent for a camping trip, and it exceeded my expectations. This 3-person tent performed exceptionally well in a range of weather conditions rain, sun, heat, and cold. The setup was a breeze, taking just approx. 10 minutes. The unique pole shape provides ample height inside, and the tent features great quality-of-life additions like a shelf above the door. The bottom of the tent is a tough, durable tarp that extends up the sides, ensuring excellent protection. The set-up was a breeze, two poles to insert, canopy over the top and click it into the bottom portion of the tent, place the stakes into the ground and tie the tent down. 5-10 minutes to set-up for two people. The reason I wanted to write the review is how water resistant it is. It was raining when we put the tent up around 7PM and it continuously rained until 2AM, it came down hard at times. I was worried that it will start leaking at any point and kept checking the tent for leaks. Not a single leak! Very pleased with how it held up during the 5 hours of rain (came down hard at times). Purchased a 6 person tent and it had plenty of room for two people with decent sized sleeping pads and room for the gear (actually had room for 2 beach chairs inside during the rain storm). Taking the tent apart was just as simple as putting it together and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the bag is actually big enough for the tent when it is not factory rolled-up. 3 night 3 1/2 day stay, rained on two occasions, not a single leak and the thing still looks brand new. NIce size tent, was exactly what I needed for two people and gear. The instructions for assembly were not great and set-up took more time than expected. Once you set-up the tent it seems sturdy.

This is by far my favorite tent. Tons of space, easy to set up and take down, quality is top notch, rain resistant, holds up well in wind. I would buy 10 if I could. I’m kind of a tent enthusiast. If I could live in one somewhere comfortably, I would.

    • Spacious and easy to set up for school camping trips

I’m a high school teacher who’s not getting any younger, but I continue to go on week-long camping field trips with my students. This has plenty of room for the concessions to my age and job - I sleep on a cot and I bring a lot of clothes so I’m fresh(er) through the week and prepared for any weather, since we don’t get to choose our timing for when we go. At 5’8” I can almost stand up in it, which makes dressing much easier than in my previous tent with a lower profile. Has held up for a couple of these trips and seems in great shape. It’s quick for me to set up without help so I can get back to attending to my group soon after arrival. Only feature it’s missing for me is loops on the interior to clip things on - I always string a clothesline inside my tent to air out things I’m rewearing, and I’ve had to jerry-rig this. ... show more

Bought this for my wife and two kids, used it all summer and it held great up in rain, sun, heat, and cold. A breeze to set up, lots of great quality of life features like a shelf above the door, nice and tall on the inside because of the unique pole shape. The bottom is a tough and durable thick tarp that comes up along the edges. Only thing to remember is that it doesn't have a cover on the outside door, so you'll have to keep everything inside your tent. Also, the carrying case is bigger than it needs to be. You can fold it up nice and compact, but the tent will slosh around in the satchel. It's maybe a bit heavy for backpacking but not too bad either. ... show more

Fantastic tent and easy to set up. That is saying a lot because I am not good at setting up things like this. Did it all myself and more than once! Roomy inside and neat to be able to open up with only a light screen to see the sky. Built well and no leaks.
