    • Outer layer adsorbs heavy rain. Rain won't pennatrate inner layers.

Good rain jacket. The outer layer is water resistant and will absorb water if under heavy rain. But I did not notice any water going through the inner layer into the fleace. So it is kinda waterproof in that you won't get wet under the jacket. The outer layer will bead off light rain, but asorbs heavy rain. It will keep you dry all the way inside. And itt drys quick and us warm. If your not ok with the outer layer asorbing water you might need a real rubber rain jacket. Otherwise it will do the trick. ... show more

Good fit and very warm. The flexibility of the two halves of the jacket make it very versatile even into much colder weather without looking like a giant parka. My biggest complaint is the sleeves. The inner fleece lining bunches badly when putting the coat on and you end up with large tufts of fleece material sticking out of your jacket sleeves until you take the time to manually adjust the fabric. ... show more

Initial thoughts when unpacking is how poor the quality of the exterior jacket is. The material is pretty much paper thin and feels like a cheap plastic tarp. Its not form fitting at all and is so thin it really doesn't do much besides repel water. The interior is the fleece jacket (separates from jacket) and is a pretty standard Colombia fleece. There really isn't anything special about it. For the price of about $300 USD you are better off getting the North Face TriClimate jacket. The quality is actually noticeable and keeps you warm. I have used this jacket now for about a week in 30-40 degree weather. Does not keep me warm at all, the OmniHeat lining does nothing as it is also paperthin. So two paperthin materials and a standard fleece jacket is what you're paying for. Pretty disappointed after seeing such good reviews. The jacket is definitely not as advertised by Colombia as wearable in "extreme" weather. ... show more
