I've always been a fan of Columbia jackets and outwear and this one is no exception. In fact, it's been my tried-and-true go-to for many years. I recently lost some weight and went down a couple sizes so it was time to buy a new one. Their quality hasn't changed and it's nice to see that they stick with what works. I've never had any threads come out or had any snags on the fabric. Very well insulated without being too heavy. I wouldn't call it lightweight necessarily but it's not their heaviest offering for sure. Very comfortable to wear during fall and winter. I'm in the south so winters aren't usually too rough. However, I've worn this jacket to Chicago in the fall and even with the wind, it holds up well. I love this jacket. It is a little warmer than a traditional, lightweight puffer jacket, which is what I wanted. This jacket is roomy enough to layer under. Now, this jacket contains a synthetic down insulation. So, the coat's label (found at the hem, inside the jacket) recommends the coat be machine-washed, cold water, on the gentle cycle, AND that you use a down washing detergent. I bought a similar Columbia jacket years ago that got torn, and this is a great replacement. The only thing that was worse about this jacket is that it does not have a zippered inner pocket like my old Columbia jacket.
