The large is quite large but that's OK as it fits over my winter jackets easily and I like the extra movement it gives me. I bought this jacket to serve primarily as a lightweight windbreaker for when I play cold weather golf and to wear over other clothing. I wore it this morning in 40 degree temperature and it worked perfectly. I like the fact that you can tighten the wrists and bottom hem so that wind doesn't enter. I also like that when you zip it up the collar stands up and blocks wind off your neck. I wear 2X shirts and this 2X jacket was loose enough so that I when wore a golf shirt and a sweater under it and it did not bind or inhibit my swing.
