I ordered these initially in a size 7 which is generally what I wear in a men's size. They were too narrow and too short. I returned and reordered in a 7.5 wide. UPS was finally able to get down our road almost a week late after the county finally plowed it this morning! The new ones fit fantastic! Put them on with the socks I like wearing and they are not only comfortable but cute. I got the men's as opposed to the women's because of the sole. I need non-stick, but tread that doesn't hold everything! The men's fit that need better. Makes me wonder why they change the sole type from women's to men's? ... show more

This boots were so lightweight, when I picked up my packages I thought it couldn't be the boots I ordered. They're super comfortable and secure. I do alot of walking around the Denver area. So there are hills and rocks and terrain of all kind. These boots haven't let me down. My ankles feel secure and supported. They're easy to put on and take off. They're comfortable enough to wear the entire day. And I've walked through plenty of snow and puddles and my feet and socks have stayed bone dry. I will definitely be buying another pair. These Boots are a great fit and very warm without making my feet hot. Only one gripe is I wish the insoles were a little softer. I work on hard tile and concrete floors all day so my feet still get a little sore. I definitely recommend Columbia products.     • They are not Merrells but fit my need

I'm a Merrells fanboy, I've lost count of how many I've had. But in this case, I wanted smooth leather. not suede and not mesh. And I like the deep red color and dark blue accent. I'm not using these for hiking I'm using these as workboots. These are nice and light (for leather), waterproofish (gearlab was not impressed with the waterproof performance but I plan to seal the seams for winter). They did need not an extensive break-in. I was a little careful to not wear them for too long the first couple of days was all I did. (again I'm not hiking so it might be different if you are knocking out long miles, but I'm not sure I'd recommend these for that unless Columbia is what you can afford). As others have said the baffles on the tongue are very short and like any inexpensive boot they benefit from better footbeds. That's it that's my complaint. Beautiful and badass pair of shoes. Very good grip and keeps your feet warm and dry. Very comfortable to walk long distance, I can assure you this because I bought these shoes and went for a trail walk at the Garden of the Gods to manitou springs in Colorado and without a doubt the shoes had amazing grip, didnt hurt my feet, has very good ankle support. I have seen no signs of excessive wear at 4 months. (Unlike a different major brand that had a hole big enough for my hand to fit through at 4 months.) They are comfortable with my inserts. These have been on concrete, and hiking moderate trails for days. They've been in the water. I've only polished them twice and they are in great shape. I primarily use this when I have to walk around during rainy season and it is great. It is very comfortable and keep your feet warm. It is not traditional fisherman boot but for everyday work or wear when it is raining is fine. It is not slip resistant but it does has grip. Overall I highly recommend this shoes. ... show more
