I love these! Lots of bright colors, blend well, soft and easy to use. They do make a lot of dust, though, but I don't know many pastels at this price that don't. I'm a beginner and I think they are great. People in my art class liked them too and want to get a set.

These pastels are pretty great for the price but I was hoping they’d be a little softer. They also crumble more then I’d expected. They’re still much better than the cheap craft store ones, but not even close to Rembrandt.

I bought these for the variety of colors and price. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. CONS: 15 chalks were broken upon delivery + 4 more broke when handled. I was sadly disappointed with the lack of red-hued chalks of which there are only 3 at best (pinks not included). There is NO chalk even close to a primary red color which makes blending other colors impossible. Cadmium red (orange-red based) is as close as it gets. (See chalk #30 in image). The violets (6) aren't much better. Set comes with a color chart which is minimally useful because it shows a sample of the color and the name of the chalk related to the position of the chalk in the BOX. No numbers on chalks so if the chalks are not put back in the exact right place in the box, the chart is useless. I had to hand number and write he name on my chalks so my color-blind husband could use the chalks with any accuracy. The chalks also lack professional level of pigment, so the colors fade rapidly when blended. PROS: The variety of yellows (18), blues (21) and greens (16) are fabulous. The chalks are all wrapped in a thin sheet of rice paper which allows for labeling and keeps chalk of your fingers when using them. Overall, it is a great set for beginners and for the money. Purchased this set to get back into drawing, good quality and selection of colors! Just wish there was a bright red for my Christmas pictures, but other than that it's been a great addition to my art supplies!
