  • Glad I bought it - great coffee - no plastic
Size: 9 CUP
Very happy with this purchase. Likes... stainless steel, no plastic, glass perk knob... GREAT tasting coffee. It takes some experimenting to get it just the way you want it but you can do that easily. I use the little round filters that came with it, and regular store bought folgers half caff coffee. I use 3 slightly rounded scoops of coffee, and fill it up to the 9 cup mark. On our glass top electric stove I heat it on HIGH until it perks (11 minutes when filled to the 9 cup mark) and then I turn it down to med/low (2-3) and let it perk for 8-9 minutes. The coffee produced is much bolder than our old drip coffee maker, smells great while perking and drinking, wonderful flavor. If you ground your own fresh coffee beans, no doubt it would be even more wonderful. I am VERY happy with this purchase. Actually came back to Amazon to see if they made a 12 cup version which would be nice for when my kids come home to visit - but sad to say I could not find it in a 12 cup. Ps... the cup size I think must be 5 oz cups, because when we fill it to the "9 cup" mark, we only get 5 or so cups of coffee (8-10 oz regular coffee mug type cups). Clean up is easy. I hand wash mine, mostly just rinse it out with hot water and then wipe it dry with towel. Use a little soap now and then. The only thing I don't like is the time it takes to get to perk with our older electric cook top. Considering purchasing one of those fancy induction cook tops to speed that up. Buy it, you will like it ! *UPDATE* 9/13/2018 - I purchased a NuWave PIC Platnum (latest model as of this date) - this is an induction cooktop. It WORKS with this Percolator just fine. (there was some question of that) but glad to report that it does work. With the NuWave you can program it to do Stage Cooking... Stage 1, some temp, for some time, State 2, some temp, for some time, etc... then save that as a program number that you can run, and it will auto go thru the different stages. I fill the Percolator up to the first hole in the spout (you can see that when you look inside the pot)... this is close to the 9 cup mark. I programmed the NuWave to run at 575 degrees for 7 minutes (that gets me to the first few perks)... and then at 210 degrees for the next 9 minutes (that is how long I want it to perk)... and it does perk at 210, but will not at 205. At 215 it perks a little strong, so I set it to use 210 degrees for the next 9 minutes (stage 2), and then for the last stage... I set it to keep the coffee nice and hot 180 degrees, for the next 20 minutes and then to shut off. That lets me come back for a nice HOT second cup... Worked like a champ this morning. Just filled my pot up to the first hole, put my 3 scoops of coffee in, and told it to run program 99 (where I had saved those 3 stages of cooking). It ran the 7 minutes at 575 degrees and just started perking... then stage 2 kicked in, 210 degrees for the next 9 minutes, and then stage 3, 180 degrees for the next 20 minutes... then it shut off. COOL ! ... show more

  • The Perfect Percolator for Outdoor Coffee Enthusiasts!
Size: 12 CUP
I recently purchased the COLETTI Bozeman Camping Coffee Percolator in the 12-cup version, and it has quickly become an essential part of my outdoor adventures. If you're a camping or hiking enthusiast who can't live without a good cup of coffee, this percolator is a game-changer! First and foremost, the build quality is exceptional. It's made of sturdy stainless steel, which not only withstands the rigors of outdoor use but also ensures the flavor of your coffee remains untainted. The 12-cup capacity is perfect for groups, and the clear knob on top allows you to monitor the brewing process without opening the lid. What truly sets this percolator apart is the taste of the coffee it brews. The consistent temperature and brewing time result in a rich, robust, and aromatic coffee that's hard to match with other brewing methods. Cleaning is a breeze, and the compact design makes it easy to transport. It's the perfect addition to your camping gear, ensuring you never have to compromise on coffee quality in the great outdoors. In summary, the COLETTI Bozeman Camping Coffee Percolator (12-cup) is a must-have for camping coffee lovers. It's well-built, brews outstanding coffee, and is a reliable companion for your outdoor escapades. I highly recommend it! ... show more

  • Simple foolproof design. Makes GREAT coffee!
Size: 9 CUP
After being frustrated with clogged up k-cup coffee makers, and 12-cup coffee drip machines, I decided to go back to basics! Not only is the first percolated cup great, but reheating the coffee a couple of hours later still results in an incredibly good cup of coffee! Simple in design... easy to use... easy to clean... and makes GREAT coffee! What more would I want?! ... show more

  • Coffee tastes amazing, but definitely less convenient.
Size: 9 CUP
First of all, my use case for this is primarily for camping. At home I use a Ninja Coffee Bar to make drip-style coffee because it is fast, easy, and tastes good. But I knew that wasn't going to work at a camp site, so I needed something that just requires a heat source. Having never used a percolator before, I decided to try it out at home. It came with some filters that just cover the bottom of the basket, not the sides, so while I've read that a medium grind should be fine for percolators I recommend a coarse grind if you aren't going to cover all the openings. It took longer than I expected to begin percolating, but once it starts it only takes about 4 minutes to get a nice rich brew. The percolator glass viewport is nice and clear, but I am not good at judging by color alone, but the instructions say 4-7 minutes so that's what I did. When I started pouring I immediately noticed some coffee grounds enter my cup, so I was kind of disappointed, but I also realized that my grind was only medium and since this was my first attempt I may have let some of the grounds escape into the base, but it wasn't too much. I think this can be completely eliminated by using coarser grounds and using a filter that covers the sides of the basket as well. OK, on to the important part: even with some grounds in the brew, this was one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had. It was amazingly tasty. I don't know why it should make this much of a difference but it really did. My whole family agreed that it was noticeably improved over our drip-style machine. So 10/10 on flavor. One caveat for camping: one of the reasons I bought this one is because it has a wood handle and the description claims it is safe for use over a fire. I have full confidence that the handle will stand up to flames, but if you are expecting--like I did--that the handle will be cool enough to grab then you'd be wrong. you can touch the wood and it isn't too hot, but the wood bolts onto a steel handle that is flush with the sides of the wood and the steel bolts are close enough to the surface that you will make contact with them. That, plus the fact that the wood itself will be relatively hot because it is thin means this thing is not really able to be held without some protection. Oh well, still a lot better than the all-steel handles. Cleanup was a lot more annoying than I expected. I'm so used to just pulling out the filter tray in my Ninja and dumping and then I'm done. I suspect with filters that cover both the bottom and sides of the basket it will be easier, but even with the bottom filter pulling out the bulk of the grounds there was still a lot left in the basket. I had to wipe it down a few times with paper towels to get all the grounds out and then ultimately had to flush it with water to get the last remnants. Since I did a poor job and managed to get some grounds in the pot I also had to flush that out, but fortunately there wasn't too much so I felt I could safely wash it down the sink. Be more careful and use a better filter and you won't have a problem. So why am I including all my mistakes in this review? Well... technically the percolator doesn't require using a filter, so I feel that everything I encountered is something that might be encountered by someone using even a coarse grind with no filter. But don't let that deter you. For camping or just for making a great cup of joe, this thing is amazing in both taste and quality. ... show more
