  • Works great, cooks evenly
Style: Stove
Excellent grill! I am so glad I didn't listen to the bad reviews. This camp stove is perfect. I used it during my week vacation to Yellowstone and it worked great. I made coffee every morning and afternoon, grilled sausage, burgers and buns with no problem. It's light The wind guards are perfect Easy to assemble for cooking Easily stored away. Easy to clean Great price Has built it handle Cooks evenly And was inexpensive I am undecided on the feet sticking up a little, which doesn't allow it to be perfectly flat, but I had no issues. ... show more

  • Great stove! Just remember to control the temps!
Style: Stove
Looking to add some variety, I purchased this one, even after all the terrible reviews. This unit packs a lot of power. 22kbtu is a lot of heat. The regulator doesn't seem to care if your sharing the full power on one burner or both, and it won't really limit you. This results in exceptionally fast water boil times. The grill comes with a big sticker that tells you NOT to put any cookware on top of the grill. Here is the problem- the stove gives you enough power to use the grill and burner at the same time even on windy cold days. If you use that power on a single burner, with no wind, on a hot summer day, the cast aluminum grill will melt. Most of the reviews with melting grills had "alumimum foil packs" or someone tried to cook an egg- which generally means a pan. Folks, its aluminum. It conducts heat better than steel. It will take all that heat, and when you put a pan on top, there is no where for the heat to go. The aluminum will build up heat, and things will not go happily. The knobs: adding to its own sudden death, the knob controls are abysmal. from low to high requires very small movement. From high to melting inferno... I don't even know where that point is. However any adjustment where you start seeing yellow flames means that the mixture is too rich. The unburn fuel will most likely be burned on the hot grate. Which makes the grate hotter, and your food probably a bit less tasty. (and.. dont forget that melting grate) Size: This stove is a bit larger. while it will still fit on portable tables and such, the dang propane just kinda hangs there. Those familiar with white gas stoves know that when assembled, its a singular unit, and very strong. I know most propane stove units are like this, but it doesnt have to be. If your watching what your doing, this stove is fine. Stick to smaller pots and pans as the burner side is limited in its width, and can lead to some balance issues if your not careful. I'd recommend 8-8.5"max. The flame is quite concentrated, and larger pans may lead to burning and hot spots. Constantly watch the temps, as if you adjust it without the wind block, and with the wind block in place, you may end up with vastly different results. When using the grill, adjust the temps, and watch for the yellow incomplete burn flames. Proper flame control will result in delicious tasty food, with less splatter and cleanup. Inproper control will result in melted grills, fires, and other issues. ... show more

  • Versatile, powerful, compact and functional
Style: Stove
This camping stove is really cool. On the left, you have a traditional stove burner that will heat up a small pot, pan or skillet. The manual recommends a 10" vessel as the maximum size. On the right is the grill. Unlike the other Coleman stove with two burners, this one comes with feet that can be attached temporarily, or screwed on for a more permanent arrangement. The feet elevate the stove above the surface of whatever it's sitting on. This allows a small grease tray to be fitted under the grease drain hole in the grill. It cooks quickly, so keep in mind that you will need to be pretty attentive to whatever you're grilling. This is not going to be a "low and slow" cooking method. The grill is designed to be compact for camping, so the heat source is very close to the griddle. Don't burn your weenies! Attached is a photo of both the burner and the grill in action. Overall I was very pleased with the performance of this item and would definitely recommend it. We actually own both the more common Coleman 2-burner stove and this one, so when camping we can cook on three pots/pans/skillets and a grill all at once. Camping is not an excuse for poor food. :) ... show more

  • Easy to use, easy to clean, 12x cheaper than charcoal.
Style: Stove
With a very safe and effortless feel to its parts and design, this Coleman grill works incredibly well so that you don't have to, and at $4 a bottle for approx. 12 sessions, propane is 12x cheaper than charcoal. So far this week I've grilled steak and bison on it and steamed a pot of rice - all to perfection. You can grill up to five or six burgers at a time, and two big boneless ribeye steaks. The grill heats up evenly from edge to edge, and the cleanup is simple - especially if you use a piece of tin foil below the grill. All you have to do is clean the grill when you're done and it's nonstick so it's a snap. Can't wait to take it camping. 20 years of gourmet cooking experience and 30 years of computer engineering is behind this review. For a camping stove, this thing is high class and fun to use. ... show more
