I love pretty much everything Coleman branded (our previous and current tent are Coleman brand), and I HATE being cold when I camp so this sleeping bag was added to cart almost immediately when I saw it. I am 5'9 and the length is plenty long for me and would easily accommodate my 6 foot husband as well. I haven't tested it in super cold winter weather, but on a couple of nights where temps have dipped into the low 50s on recent camping trips, I was happily toasty and warm inside this bag! I love the mummy option as I feel like so much heat escapes from my head/neck, so I usually sleep in a hoodie when tent camping but with this mummy bag I didn't need my hoodie or extra layers at all. I would of course love if it were a little lighter weight but otherwise I think this is a very good quality bag for the price.

Great sleeping bag!

I was on the fence about this sleeping bag when I ordered it but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The color looks as cool as advertised and it feels pretty svelte. Because the material is all polyester it does retain heat the way polyester does so even though it's thin (and I have so far only used it when it was about a low of 40 degrees), I would not be surprised if it would be comfortable in even lower temperatures (though your experience might vary). The bag looks well-constructed (thought I saw a number of dangling threads (i.e., maybe not the best quality control at the end), and the bag was comfortable. I like the zipper cover and the sewn-in cell internal cell phone velcro-tabbed cell phone pocket (see pic). I'll also note that it's very big - I am over six foot tall and it fit me with height to spare and a ton of width to spare. I liked that it had a zipper at the bottom so you could open it up at the foot of the bag (in case your feet get warm) though I've seen other bags that had both a zipper and mesh at the bottom - a zipper to let the heat escape and mesh to prevent any bugs or critters from climbing in. The sleeping bag came with its own carrying bag (see pic) which I liked as I feel like I could easily clip the packed sleeping bag to my hiking backpack and take it with me. With that said, it was a bit of a pain to get the sleeping bag back into its bag - I had to fold and refold it and do my best to squish out all the air. Maybe I'll get better with more practice. Then again, I've had similar problems with other sleeping bags - so maybe it's user error on my part or maybe it's a common design issue. With all the above in mind, I still enjoy the bag a lot and look forward to using it more!

I know this Coleman Sleeping Bag is geared towards tall individuals. However, we found that it also works decently well for my 6' husband and small child to fit. Either side by side or feet to feet using the bottom portion that is designed to unzip to cool your feet (see picture). It also could work for two children under 10 yrs to fit feet to feet. For recreational camping, it's pretty nice. It's still a mummy bag, but it's spacious. There's a little pocket on the inside for you to keep a cell phones utility tools, or a small flashlight. Anything you would to keep nearby and know where it is. There were a handful of loose strings. A concern only if the bag starts unthreading and let's the down out. The biggest con for us is the zipper, it catches on the sleeping bag even though there is black canvas lining designed to keep it from doing that. It actually stuffs back in the storage bag really easily and quickly. The reinforced straps in the storage bag are a nice feature.

Totally Impressed! A Truly Great Coleman Product!

Coleman is one of those companies that have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents loved camping, so we had tons of Coleman gear—it’s almost like their logo was ingrained in my brain from an early age. That’s why I was so excited to see Coleman continuing to do great things and innovating in the camping industry with products like this sleeping bag. Admittedly, it’s been nearly 20 years since I last slept in a sleeping bag. Saying that out loud feels wild, but it’s true! I didn’t know what to expect from a modern sleeping bag, especially not a special one, but this product absolutely blew me away. Right out of the box, I was impressed. The packaging was well done, and the strong compression straps that keep everything packed tightly are a great touch. The included carrying bag is also solid—it’s not the easiest thing in the world to repack the sleeping bag, but it’s definitely doable, which is more than I can say for some other products. The sleeping bag itself is insanely soft and comfortable. From the outer shell to the inner liner and the filling in between, every part of it feels high-quality and designed for comfort. On top of that, it’s incredibly warm—almost too warm for summer camping. I can’t imagine using this bag in hot weather without quickly overheating, but it’s perfect for fall and winter camping trips when the temperature drops. If I had one small critique, it’s the color choices. The color combination isn’t my favorite, and I would have loved to see more options. That said, it’s such a minor detail compared to how well this sleeping bag performs. All in all, this is an excellent sleeping bag that shows Coleman is still at the top of their game. I fully expect to remain a loyal Coleman customer for life. Highly recommended for anyone who loves camping, especially in cooler seasons!

A Foot Vent!

I'm going to start with the coolest feature of this sleeping bag - the foot vent! Such a clever design for those of us that like to pop our feet out while sleeping. The version that I have is the 40 degree big and tall PFAS Free, so I'm not sure if the other temperature ratings are the same, but the fabric is so soft. It feels like microfiber sheets and is really comfortable. The 40 degree rating feels about right, it is a nice weight for warmer weather camping. Cozy for cool nights but not hot like a 20 degree bag would be. It stuffs easily into the included stuff sack that includes compression straps. The zippers are all high quality and feel substantial. All of the materials and construction feel sturdy and reliable. And there's a little pouch at the top that holds a small flashlight, lip balm, glasses, etc. I'm so glad to see that Coleman maintained that same feature from a bag I have that is about 15 years old! Thumbs up for the small details, Coleman!

Medium quality mummy sleeping bag but too small stuff sack

The sleeping bag is lightweight, not as light as a down bag but considering the cost of this bag to a 4 season down mummy it’s a good value. The product information does say it’s good for car camping trips or backyard star gazing so they weren’t trying to make this a backpacking ultralight. The bag is warm enough for 35F+ with a good tent or outside without any tents for the mid 40F’s. A good bag for the beach or car camping that breathes okay but for less than a hundred bucks it’s a good alternative to your standard bags. The only complaint I have is the stuff sack is too small and it does take more work get the bag inside, considering it’s not an ultralight backpacking bag they could’ve made the sack a little larger.

As a taller person (over 6') I sometimes struggle with sleeping bags. I am also quite broad shouldered. This sleeping bag is exactly what I needed for car camping. It is spacious and comfy, with a lining that is nice against your skin. As a warm sleeper, I am not the best person to confirm the temperature range - I can normally use sleeping bags 10-15 degrees cooler than rated without any issue. This will NOT be a bag you take hiking unless you really hate your back. It is bulky and weighty. I can recommend for car use, but you will need something a little more compact and light to take in a pack.

The zipper works reliably and doesn't get stuck, which is essential for me. I appreciate that it curves before the feet, allowing for a vent option for the feet and legs. The bottom section of the sleeping bag is roomy and boxy, making it quite comfortable for the feet. The inside material is pleasant on the skin, and the 85-inch length is wonderful for tall people like me (I'm 6ft3). It feels perfect. While I can sleep in shorter sleeping bags around 75 inches, they leave my neck and head out. This big-and-tall version adds extra comfort and coziness, especially on colder nights, as I can fully 'disappear' into the 'mummy'-shape bag even when stretched out. The sleeping bag fits back into the packing sack, but I need to roll it up very tightly using my knee to compress it during the process -- the packed dimensions are ca. 15-inch in length with a 8-inch diameter. The outside material is also soft and not noisy. The limit temperature range for this sleeping bag is 40F, with a slightly higher comfort range depending on whether you're a cold or warm sleeper. This is a straightforward, quality sleeping bag with the expected COLEMAN standards and features.
