Great cooler. I can confirm that the 52 quart/49 L classic cooler from Coleman can keep the ice for more than 3.5 days! I placed four large Tupperware with frozen water in them into the cooler. The top container melted fastest and was completely melted by 90 hours. However, the three other containers below the top container were not fully melted by 90 hours. I have included a photos taken at 24, 48 and at almost 72 hours. At nearly 72 hours the top container was 90% melted. The 2nd was 40% melted. The 3rd was 35% melted. The 4th and bottom one was 50% melted (not shown). Love the handles for carrying. Love the drain I opened and closed the drain at the very beginning before using the cooler,and when there was water built-up in the cooler, it did not leak. At nearly 200 pounds I can sit on the cooler with no problems. As others have said, the lid hinge causes the lid to close. It will not stay open when opened. I have something that I put in the space next to the hinge that keeps the lid open until I’m done working in it, but I wish it would just stay open when I open it until I’m ready to close it. I got an incredible deal on this cooler, which is partly why I am so happy with it. Coolers have become so expensive! For my purposes it was perfect it fits in my Toyota Corolla trunk, my last cooler had same capacity but was too tall to fit in trunk. I needed it to keep food refrigerator cold for 4-5 hours “ then I could transfer meat, dairy, other items critical to stay that cold for food safety and then keep condiments and other things not as critical to stay refrigerator cold for safety in the cooler for 4 days. It did stay cold but not as cold as day 1 and I never refreshed the ice until the drive home.. it does not have wheels but I was able to carry it solo packed (with effort, and I am maybe a little stronger than your average woman) ... show more

I needed a cooler to transport frozen meat and other things 1250 miles and serve as a refrigerator after arrival. I used 4 plastic 2 liter pop bottles with water frozen to transport them overnight. The claim was that this would keep ice 3 days, and with those large chunks it did. I'm impressed. I used it after arriving at my destination as a frig and the 4th day I put the pop bottles in their freezer and used it for another 3 days. Nice.... ... show more

Bought the 70qt at 60 bucks at time of purchase. As someone who is always looking for the cheapest product while still wanting quality, this was the best I could find. I primarily use this for camping and keeping my perishables cold while outdoors. The cool bits: -Of course the main bit would be keeping your stuff cool. Which it sure as heck does. The longest I went for a camping trip with this has been 3 days. I only used like 10 pounds of ice and at the end of it all, ice was still in there floating in the pool of water that inevitably would be there. As long as you're not keeping the thing open all the time, it'll be a while before things start to warm up in there,. -This thing is sturdy as heck. You can comfortable sit on top without feeling any sort of give away. Maybe even two people if you're both light enough. -Its got a nice water drain at the bottom. No need to flip the whole thing over to dump out the liquid. I guess if you really wanted (and cleaned the hecking thing) you could conceivably use this as a drink dispenser. Proceed at your own risk. The not cool bits: -I haven't seen any other comments regarding the handles so it possibly might just be me but the handles flex in a way that makes me feel like they will snap off. This alone is enough to drop a star off this otherwise solid product. If you have anything in the cooler that will make it hefty, picking it up with the handles is risky. You can hear it start crackling where the handle meets the side wall. I was forced to try to not use the handles much during the trip which was horrible considering there is no easy way to carry it otherwise. Its a big bulky object with no other real handholds. This was only on a trip where I didn't even pack it up with a lot. If this was full, I could see the very real possibility of the handles ripping out. I may limit test this next time I go on my trip. TLDR: Everything about this ice chest is solid except for the handles. Luckily I don't see many people with this issue but I'm not reviewing for the overall population. Just for the one I have. Perhaps you'll get lucky and not have this issue. Hopefully you don't get one like mine. ... show more

I'm very happy with this product. It's a manageable size for carrying empty (for women). I would use two people for carrying it filled with ice and cans. I like the color. I think it will do a better job of hiding dirty hands or whatever the source compared to cream colored model.
