Initial & immediate thoughts - The foam application with the glove was by far the best I have used. I also used a full brush (a body kabuki brush) to do blending in the more precarious spots; feet/ankles, elbows, back of hands to avoid streaks & awkward spotting. For my face, I just used whatever product left on the glove after doing my shoulders and neck, just with upward sweeping motions. Dries down fairly quickly and there is a fragrance to it but won't dismiss the fact that there is a self-tanner smell that emerges. Not as terrible as some other products but far better. I dont think you can really avoid "the smell". I would just prepare at least a day in advance of any occasion for it to cure and shower. I did exfoliate the day prior to application and made sure not to use any products prior to application, so that I was clean and exfoliated. The glove performed well and I kept a baby wipe nearby to clean the palms of my hands for any bleed-through and there was a little. Not a lot but I saw some color on the baby wipe. Clean your glove by handwashing and air-drying. I saw some comments that folks used a washer/dryer and it ruined it. I wouldn't even consider doing that even if it was safe TBH. I am fair with yellow undertones and had no orange glow. Came out a nice natural tan hue for me. I do have a base tan already but end-of-season, I wanted to maintain for some upcoming events. I bought the dark and the level is just right. Not crazy lady dark but someone who got a good vacation somewhere on a sunny beach. Sorry, I know that's subjective, so I will just say it's perfect for me. Medium tan, doesn't look like a fake-baked. Folks say they get a week of color from initial application but that is too soon for me to confirm, but that's your typical average. Does it cover imperfections like veins & freckles no. That's a different product for body coverage. Would I buy again, yes! Hope this helps someone sitting on the fence..

Great self tanner for that deep, dark tan!!

This self tanner got me soooo dark. It comes with a nice application mitt too which is a major bonus, given the reasonable price! I followed directions as listed on the bottle; showered, shaved, exfoliated, etc. I applied this almost immediately after I was fully dried off and allowed the first ‘coat’ to dry for a minute or 2 before applying a second, then third final layer. This gave me the ultimate “just got home from a week long vacation” very dark tan. I was impressed because it actually didn’t have that horrible self tanning smell either like most others do. I slept in mine for probably 6-8 hours overnight to achieve the deepest tan and was not disappointed with the results at all. The color doesn’t look orange or like a fan tan. It is super natural looking and lasted probably 2 full weeks before it started to wear off. Only con with this was that for whatever reason when it did start to fade off/wash away it wasn’t coming off evenly. It was very blotchy in certain spots and eventually I had to use a washcloth and strong soap to physically rub it completely off of my skin. I never had a problem like that to that extent before, so that is really my only complaint. Other than that, it looked great for those first 7-10 days- I wore it right before a wedding! I think the pros of this product definitely outweigh the cons. Just make sure you apply it correctly, following instructions fully. & leave it on longer to achieve a beautiful, deeper and darker tan. I will add- I have used other Coco & Eve products in the past and have liked them so I already had high expectations for this self tanner prior to using it. Their coconut hair mask is amazing too!!

Great product, runs off at night on sheets

I’m rating this 4 stars only because it has been rubbing off on my sheets literally every night for a week. It’s sucks because I literally LOVE this self tanner! It works so good and my legs looked like they had a real tan for a week. Go light on the feet they came out a bit dark but overall great product. I used a brush instead of the glove and it was a very smooth application. Much better than going to the tanning beds and worked way better than many other products I’ve tried. I feel like it hid the cellulite and dimples. I’m 5’4” 128 pounds and hid my mild imperfections really well! Just expect to have it rub off on your sheets. Oddly it didn’t get on my clothes or towels…just my sheets while I slept 🤷🏻♀️ not orange at all. Great product! Love the color!

Do you want the cream or pink bottle?? CREAM!!

I first stumbled upon this product through an Instagram ad and almost made a purchase, but a helpful reviewer saved me! They pointed out that the pink bottle being advertised (a full-body foam, not the face mist) wasn't the authentic Coco & Eve. The real deal, they insisted, was the cream-colored bottle, which didn't leave a sticky residue and had that amazing fruity scent reminiscent of Hi-Chews. The pink bottle, on the other hand, was a sticky mess with an off-putting smell. Naturally, I hopped on Amazon, and sure enough, found the cream-colored bottle the reviewer raved about. Lesson learned: always check Amazon first for better prices and faster shipping! I truly feel like I dodged a bad product purchase right from the start. Now, about this product – I absolutely love it! As someone with incredibly fair skin who burns easily and can turn alarmingly orange with the wrong self-tanner, I can confidently say this stuff is incredible. I was also fortunate to realize that Ulta was selling the "dark" shade, which would have been a disaster for my complexion. I hadn't realized there were three options: Medium, Dark, and Ultra Dark. The medium shade was a perfect choice, even though I was initially worried it might be too much. The included glove is pure bliss – so soft and, in my opinion, essential for a smooth application, along with prior exfoliation. I used two pumps, blending in small circles until it was absorbed. The darker tint allowed me to see exactly where I was applying it, which was super helpful for my fair skin. It dried instantly with no sticky feeling – a huge win! The scent was pleasant during application, though it does develop a slight metallic smell an hour or so later. However, it's not bothersome, even for someone as sensitive to smells as I am. I showered about four hours after application, and while the initial rinse was brown, the resulting color was a beautiful, natural-looking golden glow. I applied a bit more a few days later, left it on longer, and the color was still fantastic. I'm beyond pleased! After trying countless self-tanners, I've finally found my new go-to. You won't regret this purchase! Photo- I know it doesn't appear like an amazing glow, but my complexion against a white chair is truly telling. Especially when I more often match the chair than not.

I love it!

I’m relatively fair and I got the medium color. It works amazing. I took a pre, mid, and post shower picture. It doesn’t look orange at all in person. I didn’t have any issues with streaks or splotchiness at all. The mitt was super silky and easy to use as well. Had my husband in my back so that is something to consider if you’re trying to do it by yourself. It dried really quickly and I slept in it and didn’t get anything on my clothes or my sheets and it smells really good. Some self tanner’s have a really bad smell afterwards, but this one never got that burnt smell. Will definitely buy again.

Smells great! Applies amazing, but is more on the orange side

I usually use another self tanner, PJ if you get what I mean. This is my first time trying the coco & eve self tanner and I have to say when I was applying it I was extremely impressed. The foam went on super well, no streaks, smelled amazing, does have a self tanner smell but it’s really not that bad! The foam almost felt moisturizing and it didn’t stick to the dryer parts like pj will (ankles, elbows, toes, etc.). The level of tan is about the same as the pj medium- I got the dark in coco& Eve. However the next morning after my rinse off I do feel like I look much more orange then the pj self tanner. It is still a pretty glow, but definitely orange where I feel pj has such a bronzy glow to it, I personally did not look orange at all! It was sticky for a couple of hours after I used, I used two normal coats, nothing excessive. Pj seems to developed and dry a little quicker.. overall, I am happy with the coco & Eve but I feel like after this bottle I will go back to pj because I am happier with pj.

Use the glove! This is my first time using a foaming self tanner. The velvet glove helped the application process and wasn’t stiff or difficult to put on. The scent was pleasant and light and much better than other self tanning products. I’m very pale so I purchased the Medium tone. There’s this one self tanner I purchased from Walmart and I hardly slept because the smell was so strong! My suggestions: -Shower/bathe first, using exfoliating shower gloves -shave! -place a towel (one you don’t mind staining) on the floor where you will stand during the application. - apply QUICKLY and EVENLY, don’t let any blobs sit on your skin for any length of time it will show as a dark spot which you will have to rub furiously to blend. Wait as long as possible before putting any clothes on. Even though it claims it doesn’t transfer, it’s probably referring to after the drying process, which is 2 hours. I put booty shorts on and a sports bra after 30 minutes of standing in the bathroom messing’ with my face, brushing my teeth… etc. which I felt it was dry enough to get dressed; yet it slightly transferred where the elastic was snug against my skin, but that is my own fault. This is worth the effort, I definitely recommend.
